Anthropic’s leaked filing shows $16.3 billion in half-year sales
The leaked filing also records an $80.7 billion first-half loss, mostly an accounting charge on convertible bonds, and more than $750 billion in possible cloud spending.
Anthropic’s draft prospectus, the document a company files before selling shares to the public, puts the Claude maker’s revenue for the first half of 2026 at $16.3 billion. The Wall Street Journal and Reuters reported its contents on Tuesday 20 October 2026. Two customers account for about a fifth of that revenue, TechCrunch reports.
The same filing records a net loss of $80.7 billion for the half. Most of it is paperwork: Reuters says $72 billion of it is an accounting charge with no cash behind it. Anthropic has issued bonds that can later convert into its shares, and the higher those bonds are valued, the bigger the charge. The loss a year earlier was $13 billion.
Real spending is climbing too. Reuters puts the half’s bill for computing power and data centres at nearly $9 billion. A year earlier it was $2.3 billion. TechCrunch says the filing puts possible cloud contracts above $750 billion, some still under negotiation, and warns that AWS, Google and Microsoft now treat Anthropic as a rival when it asks for capacity.
Last week some investors were weighing a valuation near $1.5 trillion, as we reported. The listing is expected in November.
For anyone picking an AI supplier, the filing puts a figure on what one model maker spends to keep its tools running.
