Best AI for ad copy
Verdict on AI for ad copy
A chat assistant writes ad copy for under a third of a Jasper seat: Claude Pro or Google AI Plus. Google AI Plus lists $4.99 a month and Claude Pro $20; one Jasper Pro seat lists $69 a month, checked . Consumer Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini chats train their models unless you opt out.
For a team writing in chat, with no model training on its copy by default:
Claude
Commercial Terms B bar model training on Team chats, and 8 of 44 user reviews name Claude for ad copy.
For hooks and copy beside the image, on the cheapest verified paid plan:
Gemini (Google)
Google AI Plus is the cheapest verified paid plan of the 13 tools, with Nano Banana images in the same chat. Google’s terms leave ad use unclear.
For copy in one brand voice across a marketing team:
Jasper
Pro lists 2 Brand Voices, praised in 8 of 44 user reviews. Terms 3(a) license your copy to Jasper for improving AI models.
For copy variants scored one by one before launch:
Anyword
Starter includes 50 performance predictions a month on monthly billing. Its homepage claims 82% accuracy and links no study.
For statics and their copy, with ad use allowed on every plan:
The Brief (formerly Creatopy)
Its AI terms leave you “all right, title, and interest” in Output. Pro and Team content trains its models unless you opt out.

Every ad copy tool, one by one
Jasper and Anyword charge more than a chat assistant for a shared brand voice or a predicted score. The seven ad generators write copy beside the image.
Claude
Claude Pro lists $20 a month, and a Team seat $25 a month (Claude pricing). Anthropic “may not train models” on Team chats (Commercial Terms B); consumer chats train its models unless you opt out (Consumer Terms 4).
Marketers use it for hooks and ad copy (8 of 44 sources: Reddit, Reddit). In one creator’s $100 Meta split test, its copy cost about 20% less per lead than his own (YouTube, 10 August 2026). Usage limits are the top complaint, paid plans included (11 of 44 sources: Trustpilot, App Store). It makes no images.
- Best for
- Writing and iterating hooks, headlines, scripts and briefs from your own research, reviews and past winners, and working through exported ad data.
- Not for
- Making the ad image itself: Claude does not generate images, so it pairs with an image tool.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT writes the copy and makes the image in one chat. OpenAI’s pricing page renders consumer prices by region in the browser, so the table lists them as Unverified. OpenAI’s terms say you “own the Output”, and chats train its models unless you opt out.
Its sharing policy asks that content posted to social media be marked as AI-generated, without saying whether a paid ad counts. Image limits are unpublished and move from day to day (8 of 34 sources, all on Trustpilot).
- Best for
- Hooks, copy and the matching image in one chat, plus API images at $0.053 each (medium quality, 1024x1024).
- Not for
- Anyone who needs a published image quota per plan, or pixel-exact brand fonts and layouts without a finishing pass in a design tool.
Gemini
Google AI Plus, the cheapest verified paid plan of the 13 tools, lists $4.99 a month (Google AI plans). Nano Banana makes the image in the same chat.
For copy alone, Gemini trails Claude and ChatGPT in the few head-to-heads users ran (3 of 38 sources: YouTube, YouTube). In one creator’s Meta split test of all three, its copy had the highest cost per lead (YouTube, 10 August 2026).
Google’s terms say only that it “won’t claim ownership”, so ad use is unclear. Chats improve its models unless Keep Activity is off (Privacy Hub).
- Best for
- Drafting hooks, headlines and scripts next to Nano Banana images in one chat, on the free plan or Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month.
- Not for
- Teams that need a published message quota: Gemini’s limits are compute-based, refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap, and no number is published.
Jasper: ad copy in a shared brand voice
Jasper Pro lists $69 a month per seat, with 2 Brand Voices, 5 Knowledge assets and a 7-day trial (Jasper pricing). Brand Voices are the feature users praise most: drafts stay close to their tone across projects and team members (8 of 44 sources: YouTube, G2).
Its templates cover Facebook and Instagram ads and headlines (6 of 44 sources: G2, Capterra). Some marketers see no gain over prompting ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini directly (3 of 44 sources: Reddit, Reddit).
Billing tops the complaints: trials that turn into annual charges and refused refunds (13 of 44 sources: YouTube, Trustpilot). Terms 3(a) take a perpetual licence to your copy for “modifying, improving, and enhancing artificial intelligence models”; only EU and UK users may object (section 12).
- Best for
- Marketing teams that need many people to produce on-brand copy from shared brand voices, product knowledge and audiences.
- Not for
- A solo media buyer who only needs ad hooks and headlines; a general assistant does that for a fraction of $69 a seat.
Anyword
Anyword’s Starter lists $49 a month for one seat and 50 performance predictions a month, 100 on yearly billing (Anyword pricing). The score is why users pick it (9 of 23 sources: YouTube, Trustpilot).
Price is the main complaint (8 of 23 sources, all on G2). Its terms (section 4) give you “all right and title in the Generated Content”.
- Best for
- Marketers who want copy variants ranked before launch and, on Business, a model trained on their own past ads and channel data.
- Not for
- Anyone expecting the score to replace a live test; Starter includes 50 performance predictions a month on monthly billing (100 on yearly).
Copy.ai: from ad copy generator to sales workflows
Copy.ai’s Chat plan lists $29 a month for 5 seats with OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models; every larger plan adds workflow credits (Copy.ai pricing). Fullcast bought it in October 2025, and users say the move took away writing features they paid for (4 of 31 sources: YouTube, Trustpilot).
Several users now get the same or better copy from ChatGPT or Claude for less (4 of 31 sources: Trustpilot, Reddit). Support is the top complaint (12 of 31 sources, all on Trustpilot). Its terms name OpenAI as owner of what it writes (below).
- Best for
- Sales and RevOps teams building outbound and campaign workflows; the Chat plan gives 5 seats access to OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini models.
- Not for
- Performance marketers shopping for an ad copy tool: the product has moved to GTM automation, and the terms still name OpenAI as owner of generated copy.
AdCreative.ai
AdCreative.ai writes ad copy beside its banners. Starter lists $39 a month for 10 credits, $3.90 per image if every credit is used (pricing). Users report the 7-day trial turning into a large charge, found months later by some (18 of 34 sources: G2, Reddit). Its subscriber terms grant no ownership of the ads.
- Best for
- Small teams resizing static banners for Meta and Google Display from one brand kit, within 10 to 50 downloads a month.
- Not for
- Anyone needing written ownership of outputs without an Enterprise contract, or more than 10 downloads a month on Starter’s base tier.
Pencil
Pencil writes copy with its text agent and scores each ad. Core lists $14 a month for 50 generations (Pencil pricing). Users praise one idea turned into many sized variants (10 of 25 sources: G2, YouTube). On Core and Growth, Pencil owns the outputs and licenses them back (terms 3.1, 3.2).
- Best for
- Brands that want to brief, generate, score and launch static and video ads in one workspace, choosing the model per job.
- Not for
- Anyone who needs to own outputs outright: on Core and Growth Pencil owns them and grants you a licence. Core’s 50 generations cover about 11 agent-made statics a month at Pencil’s own rates.
Omneky
Omneky writes copy with its image and video ads. Lite lists $29 a month for 200 credits, and AI Ad Scoring starts on Standard (Omneky pricing). Users like the speed of variations (12 of 39 sources: Capterra, G2); others call the output generic (10 of 39 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
Its agreement (4.2) gives Omneky the ads and licenses them to you only “during the Term”, for your own campaigns.
- Best for
- Brands and agencies that want generation, AI scoring and launching across five ad networks in one account, with credits that roll over.
- Not for
- Anyone who wants to keep running the ads after cancelling without checking with Omneky first; the terms licence creatives only during the subscription.
Predis.ai
Predis.ai writes captions and hashtags with its posts and ads, then schedules them. Core lists $32 a month for 1,300 credits (Predis pricing). Small businesses report hours saved each week (20 of 67 sources: Shopify App Store, Trustpilot). Others report the trial billing the full plan, sometimes a yearly one (11 of 67 sources: Trustpilot, Shopify App Store).
Its terms never mention generated content.
- Best for
- Small brands and agencies that want one tool to generate, caption and auto-post social content and simple ads across several channels.
- Not for
- Anyone who needs written ownership of outputs or a refund: the terms never mention generated content, and payments after the 3-day trial are non-refundable.
The Brief
The Brief, formerly Creatopy, lists Pro at $39 a month with “Generative AI for text” for copy variations, under the line “no credits. no counters. just plans” (pricing). Long-time users report credits now metering exports and AI actions (13 of 37 sources: Reddit, Trustpilot). Its AI terms allow ad use on every plan.
- Best for
- Teams designing display and social ads in volume who want AI generation and resizing on a flat fee, from $39 a month on Pro.
- Not for
- Anyone needing Sora 2 or Veo 3.1 video, Meta and Google Ads publishing or A/B testing on the $39 Pro plan. Those start at Ultra ($99 a month) or Team ($59 a seat).
Blaze
Blaze (blaze.ai) writes social posts and emails for small businesses. Starter lists $79 a month for 600 credits and “Automated ad campaigns” (Blaze pricing). Users find the copy generic and repetitive (10 of 48 sources: YouTube, Capterra). Its terms 7(ix)(C) ask for Blaze’s prior written consent before advertising content goes “on or through the Service”.
- Best for
- Solo founders and small local businesses that want posts and emails generated and scheduled, with
Automated ad campaigns
listed on the $79 a month Starter card. - Not for
- Media buyers who need A/B experiments or per-ad reporting: the plan cards list posting accounts, generation credits and
Automated ad campaigns
only.
Atria
Atria pairs an ad library with an AI strategist that drafts ad concepts and copy. Core lists $129 a month billed yearly and a yearly saving of $360, so monthly billing comes to $159 a month (Atria pricing).
Users credit its research side for briefs (3 of 13 sources: Reddit, YouTube), and others report charges after cancelling (5 of 13 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot). No clause in its terms gives you ownership of AI outputs.
- Best for
- Teams that want competitor research, their own creative reporting and AI concept and copy drafts in one tool, with MCP access for AI assistants.
- Not for
- Buyers who need written ownership of AI outputs, or small accounts that only need a swipe file (Core is $159 a month on monthly billing).
What Meta’s own text variations do, and where they may run
Meta’s Advantage+ creative is the AI Facebook ad copy generator inside Ads Manager. It writes “up to 5 variations of primary text and headline”, and its help page names no fee (read 26 September 2026).
Meta’s Ad Creative Generative AI Terms (effective 6 May 2024) allow Output “anywhere on Meta Company Products” and add: “Use or publication of Output outside of Meta’s platforms is unauthorized and a violation of these Terms.”
The only place the terms name text is the definition of Input: “Any text, image, video file, document, or other content provided to the Ad Creative AIs”. The terms do not say whether text variations are Output. They also bar presenting Output “as human-generated when it is not”.
One r/FacebookAds poster, who turns it off to avoid “cheesy AI generated ad copy”, says Advantage+ Creative “will NOT toggle off” (thread, 8 September 2026). Best AI tools for Meta ads covers the rest of Meta’s generative features, and the Advantage+ creative guide shows how to turn each feature off.
Who owns the copy, and who trains on it
Six of the 13 tools give you the copy in writing: Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, Anyword, The Brief and Blaze. Copy.ai’s terms name OpenAI as owner, Pencil owns Core and Growth outputs, and Omneky’s agreement gives the ads to both sides. No clause in the terms of Gemini, AdCreative.ai, Predis.ai or Atria gives you the copy.
| Tool, plan and terms | Who owns the copy, as written | Trains on your copy by default |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Free, Pro, Max · Consumer Terms 4, 8 Oct 2025 | Anthropic assigns you its “right, title, and interest” in Outputs, “if any” | Yes, unless you opt out |
| Claude Team · Commercial Terms B, 17 Jun 2025 | Customer “owns its Outputs” | No |
| ChatGPT Consumer plans · Terms of Use, 1 Jan 2026 | You “own the Output” | Yes, unless you opt out |

| Anyword All plans · Terms 4, 5 Jun 2024 | You hold “all right and title in the Generated Content” | Unclear: aggregated use to improve the platform |
| Copy.ai All plans · Terms 17(a), 12 Oct 2023 | OpenAI LLC, by 17(a) | Unclear: 7(b) licenses your content to improve services |

| Omneky All plans · Agreement 1.6 and 4.2, 27 Aug 2025 | 1.6 says you own Output; 4.2 says Omneky owns the ads | No (1.6); third-party AI providers access it under their own terms |
| Predis.ai All plans · Terms, no date shown | Not mentioned | Unclear |
| The Brief Pro, Team · AI terms, 1 Oct 2025 | You keep “all right, title, and interest” in Output | Yes, unless you opt out |

Copy.ai’s terms answer the ownership question three times. Section 7(e) licenses Generated Content to you “for your lawful business purposes”, and 7(f) says Copy.AI and its licensors “retain all rights to that content”.
Then 17(a): “Notwithstanding the foregoing, Copy.AI’s licensor, OpenAI LLC, exclusively owns all right, title and interest in and to Generated Content.” OpenAI’s own terms assign Output to the user.
Clauses by plan for every tool here but Atria sit in the AI commercial use matrix.
What the copy scores measure
Anyword, AdCreative.ai and Pencil print an accuracy figure for their score; Omneky prints none. None of the three publishes the ads or the dates behind its figure.
- Anyword’s score grades copy variations “based on their performance and conversion potential” (Data-Driven Editor). Its homepage claims 82% accuracy at picking the better of two variations, against 52% for GPT-5.
- AdCreative.ai gives a Performance Score and an Awareness Score, claims “over 90% accuracy” and links no study (Creative Scoring AI).
- Pencil’s 0 to 100 score “focuses on CTR”. Its blog reports a check on more than 7,000 ads: 61% landed in the right decile band or one away.
- Omneky’s Ad Score averages five sub-scores, from contrast to brand guidelines, with no accuracy figure (help centre).
Tools that test live ads are compared on AI creative testing tools.
Free AI ad copy: what each free plan allows
Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini write ad copy on free plans. The rights matrix rates paid ads on Claude’s and ChatGPT’s free plans allowed with conditions, and on Gemini’s unclear.
Atria’s homepage offers 1,000 free credits, with no ad-use rating. The Brief’s pricing FAQ moves lapsed trials to a Free plan. There, its AI terms let The Brief train its models on your copy and adapt it into templates for other customers.
Jasper, Anyword, AdCreative.ai, Omneky, The Brief and Blaze offer 7-day trials, and Pencil’s free sign-up makes six ads. Predis.ai’s trial runs 3 days and takes a card.
Best AI for ad copy on Reddit: Claude and GPT, and no copy tool
Of 1,873 AI-creative posts in nine subreddits, pulled 23 September 2026, 25 match “ad copy”, “copywrit”, “primary text” or “headline”. By subreddit: r/PPC 11, r/dropship 5, r/marketing 3, r/FacebookAds 3, r/ecommerce 2 and r/shopify 1.
Claude appears in 6 and GPT in 4; no dedicated copy tool on this page appears in any. Posters ask “Best AI for Amazon PPC ad copy?” (r/PPC, 12 May 2026) or describe using ChatGPT and Claude “for grunt work” (r/PPC, 15 June 2026).
Guides and data for ad copy
Every plan above has a dated row in the AI ad tool price tracker. How we check prices and terms sets out the sources behind each row.
Video scripts and voice-overs sit on AI ad script generators and AI voice over for ads, and video hooks on AI hook generators. Labels for AI-made ads are covered in Meta’s AI disclosure rules.
Left out, and why
Adamigo, AdManage, Manus and Google Ads’ own text generation have no row in our price and terms database. Meta Advantage+ creative is described above with no button: it runs inside Ads Manager.
