Verdict: Arcads or MakeUGC

To see a plan price before paying, MakeUGC; for a licence that outlasts the subscription, Arcads. MakeUGC lists Start up ($59) with 500 credits; Arcads publishes no price and licenses each video “for the legal duration” of the rights. MakeUGC’s three copies of 3.2(a) disagree on ownership after cancelling; Arcads can order ads deleted if an actor withdraws (checked ).

Arcads

Best for
Buyers who want each ad licensed for the rights’ legal duration and accept a price shown only after sign-up.
Not for
Buyers who need a public price, or cheap 15 to 30-second hooks: length is rounded up, and the one example rounds to the minute. Actor-as-customer scripts risk the deceptive advertising ban (terms 13.3.1).

Not for

What each one publishes about cost

Neither pricing page lets you price one video: Arcads publishes credits per minute and no plan price, MakeUGC plan prices and no credits per video.

Arcads’ credits article (29 April 2026) charges 800 credits a minute per actor and says “Length is always rounded up”. Its one example bills 1 minute 45 as 2 minutes. If Arcads bills by the whole minute, Starter’s 8,000 credits make ten actor videos of any length up to a minute.

Arcads’ pricing page returned 404 on 2 October 2026, and its terms (7.1) say offer details “will be shown directly on the Platform”.

MakeUGC’s pricing page lists its plans (read ). Its FAQ says each generation costs credits “depending on the model, duration, and resolution”, with no figure. The API docs charge 100 credits per talking-actor video and do not say whether app plans bill the same.

Can you run a testimonial-style ad on either?

Not legal advice This section quotes Arcads’ and MakeUGC’s documents with their dates and reads them as an ad buyer would. Ask a lawyer before you rely on any reading here.

MakeUGC’s policy bars fabricated testimonials by name; Arcads’ terms bar “misleading or deceptive advertising” without naming testimonials.

MakeUGC’s Fair Use Policy (11 July 2025) describes the platform as making “brand stories, avatar-led testimonials, and promotional assets” (section 1). Section 7 reads: “Misuse of AI outputs to impersonate real people, fabricate testimonials, or make deceptive claims is strictly forbidden”.

MakeUGC’s terms bar “fraud, impersonation, deception, or misleading commercial practices” (5(b)). They also bar deploying output “in contexts where AI-disclosure is legally required but omitted” (5(f)).

Arcads’ terms bar “misleading or deceptive advertising” (13.3.1). The same clause bars any video that breaks “the rules of ads platforms” or requires “compulsory information (e.g. sponsored content)”.

The FTC rule on fake testimonials, 16 CFR 465.2, and how it reaches an AI actor: are AI UGC ads legal.

Do your ads keep running after you cancel?

On Arcads, yes: each video’s licence runs for the rights’ legal duration. On MakeUGC the documents disagree, so the answer is unclear.

Arcads’ terms grant each video’s licence “for the legal duration of the applicable intellectual property rights” (13.3.1). On a breach of that clause, “the license is no longer valid, and the Client shall not use the Videos”.

MakeUGC’s terms page serves three copies of the terms, read on 2 October 2026. Two say “You own all rights, title, and interest in and to any Output generated through the Services, including after your Subscription ends”. The third is headed “Ownership Conditioned on an Active Subscription”.

All three keep 7.3: “Termination does not affect your ownership rights to previously generated Output.” The Fair Use Policy says outputs “are licensed to users only if they have a valid and active paid subscription” (section 6). Neither document says which text wins.

Clause by clause: Arcads and MakeUGC in the AI commercial use matrix.

What happens if an actor withdraws?

Arcads can order every video with that actor deleted, at 100 euros a day of delay; MakeUGC’s documents set no rule for stock actors.

Arcads’ 13.3.2 says FRESHR (the company behind Arcads) “may ask the Client to delete any Videos from all supports where they are used, in the event of a withdrawal request made by the Creator”. The client then owes “a hundred (100) euros per day of delay” past FRESHR’s deadline.

A breach of an actor video’s conditions left unremedied 30 days after notice costs “a lump-sum indemnity of 500.000,00 euros (five hundred thousand euros) per breach” (13.3.2). The terms do not say whether that sum also reaches 13.3.1’s advertising bans.

MakeUGC’s Custom Avatar Policy requires every likeness in a custom avatar to be “fully licensed or owned by the User” (4a). None of MakeUGC’s documents names its stock AI creators in a withdrawal or paid-ad clause.

What happens when a trial ends or you cancel?

Both start paid: Arcads’ trial bills Starter after 72 hours, and MakeUGC’s one-dollar start renews at the plan price.

Arcads’ refund policy says that after the 3-day trial “your saved card was automatically charged for the Starter plan”, unless cancelled “before the 72 hours are up”. It refunds a period with zero credits used, if asked within 30 days.

A reviewer walks through signing up for Arcads: no free trial and no price until you pick a plan Video: Arcads AI Review: Is It Worth It in 2026?, Modern Digital Empire on YouTube, .

Each MakeUGC monthly card reads “Start for $1”, and the Pro card adds “Renews at $149” (pricing page). The trial policy states no length, and terms 6.3 say “Payments are non-refundable except where required by law”.

MakeUGC’s Refund Policy (4 September 2025) gives a full refund within three business days of buying or renewing if credits are not substantially consumed. With under half used, it refunds 50 per cent (3.1, 3.2).

Charges after cancelling lead MakeUGC’s complaints (17 of 29 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot). On Arcads, support is hard to reach once something goes wrong, refund requests included (16 of 64 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
