AI hook generators
Verdict on AI hook generators
Write hooks free in an assistant; pay only when they become video, where billing rules decide the cost. Creatify bills every started 15 seconds, so a 3-second hook costs as much as a 15-second clip. Prices read .
For writing hooks free from your own reviews:
Claude
Claude Free drafts hooks from what you paste; 8 of 44 user reports name hooks and ad angles as its main ad use.
For hooks drawn from your own ad results:
Motion (motionapp.com)
Its AI analyst tags Meta ads by hook and writes briefs. Starter covers up to 50k dollars of monthly ad spend.
For rendering short hooks at the lowest computed cost here, if every credit is used:
JoggAI
About 100 credits a minute on Starter: ten 3-second hooks use 50 of 12,000 monthly credits, pro rata. No rounding rule is published.
For a predicted score on each hook before launch:
Anyword
Starter includes 50 performance predictions a month on monthly billing; 9 of 23 user reports name the score as the reason they use it.

Arcads publishes no price list. ChatGPT’s price could not be read on its live pricing page.
Hook writers and hook renderers, one by one
Writers draft the line. Readers pull hooks from ads that already ran. Renderers put an AI actor on screen to say it, and their billing unit sets the price of a short clip.
Claude: free hooks from pasted reviews
Claude’s Free plan drafts hooks from customer reviews and past winners you paste; Pro is $20 a month (Claude pricing). Without examples it writes generic copy, and some users find it less creative than ChatGPT for hooks (9 of 44 sources: r/FacebookAds, r/marketing).
- Best for
- Writing and iterating hooks, headlines, scripts and briefs from your own research, reviews and past winners, and working through exported ad data.
- Skip it if
- you want the hook rendered as video in the same place: Claude makes no images or video.
ChatGPT: a hook and its thumbnail in one chat
ChatGPT (profile) writes hook lines and generates the still that opens the ad in the same chat. Users report image limits that move from day to day, with failed images counted (8 of 34: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
- Best for
- Hooks, copy and the matching image in one chat, plus API images at $0.053 each (medium quality, 1024x1024).
- Skip it if
- you plan image volume around a quota: the plans publish none.
Gemini: free hooks inside Google’s apps
Gemini’s free plan writes hooks beside Nano Banana images; Google AI Plus is $4.99 a month (Google AI plans). Answers turn generic unless prompts are long and specific (5 of 38: Capterra, G2).
- Best for
- Drafting hooks, headlines and scripts next to Nano Banana images in one chat, on the free plan or Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month.
- Skip it if
- you need settled ad rights on the output: Google’s terms say only that it “won’t claim ownership”, so the rights matrix reads unclear.
Anyword: hooks ranked by a predicted score
Anyword scores each copy variant before launch. Starter costs $49 a month with 50 predictions a month on monthly billing (Anyword pricing). The score is why users pick it (9 of 23: YouTube, YouTube); price is the main drawback (8 of 23: G2, G2).
- Best for
- Marketers who want copy variants ranked before launch and, on Business, a model trained on their own past ads and channel data.
- Skip it if
- you test more than 50 hooks a month on Starter: predictions are capped at 50 on monthly billing.
Motion: hooks tagged in your own ads
Motion reports on Meta, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn ads; its AI analyst tags Meta ads and lists “AI briefs, hooks and iteration suggestions”. Starter costs $750 a month up to 50k dollars of monthly spend (Motion pricing).
AI tagging by hook, format and angle draws praise (23 of 104: G2, G2); wrong or shallow tags draw complaints (14 of 104: G2, G2).
- Best for
- Brands and agencies spending 25k dollars or more a month on Meta who want every ad AI-tagged and ranked, plus weekly reports and iteration ideas.
- Skip it if
- you spend a few thousand dollars a month: Starter alone costs 750 dollars a month, sized for up to 50k dollars of spend.
Atria: hooks from ads you track
Atria writes concepts and copy from its ad library and your account data; Core is $159 a month, and the free plan starts with 1,000 credits (Atria pricing). Charges after cancelling or inside the trial lead the complaints (5 of 13: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
- Best for
- Teams that want competitor research, their own creative reporting and AI concept and copy drafts in one tool, with MCP access for AI assistants.
- Skip it if
- you want a cost per hook: Atria publishes no credit cost per AI action.
Superads: a hook score on every ad
Superads reports on Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn ads with a hook, hold, click and conversion score on each ad. Professional costs $150 a month up to 100k dollars of monthly spend, after a 14-day trial (Superads pricing). Its homepage says “You do the creating”: it writes and renders no ads.
- Best for
- Teams wanting creative reports and a hook, hold, click and conversion score per ad, from $150 a month with no annual contract.
- Skip it if
- you want hooks written for you: Superads scores ads that already ran.
Creatify: renders bill in 15-second blocks
Creatify charges 5 credits per 15 seconds of avatar video, rounded up (help centre). Starter is $39 a month for 100 credits (Creatify pricing), so a 3-second hook costs $1.95, if every credit is used.
Users report credits running out faster than the pricing suggests (15 of 61: Trustpilot, r/FacebookAds).
- Best for
- E-commerce teams making URL-to-video ads in volume who want an ad launcher for Meta, TikTok and AppLovin in the same tool.
- Skip it if
- you render many hooks under 15 seconds: each one bills a full block. JoggAI states a per-minute rate.
Arcads: the step is longer than 15 seconds
Arcads charges 800 credits per minute per actor and says “Length is always rounded up” with no unit (credits article). Its one example bills 1 minute 45 seconds as 2 minutes, which rules out any step of 15 seconds or less.
Arcads publishes no price (prices). Users call the price high for what a month buys (19 of 64: Trustpilot, r/dropshipping).
- Best for
- Talking-actor ads close to a whole minute long, if billing rounds up to the minute as the help centre’s one example suggests.
- Skip it if
- you test many short hooks: a 3-second clip bills more than 200 credits under the published example.
Captions: 16 credits every 6 seconds
Captions lists Prompt to Video at 16 credits every 6 seconds, under “Costs Based On Average Use”, with no rule for a part block (help centre). Max is $24.99 a month for 500 credits (Captions pricing). Failed runs still cost credits (8 of 36: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
- Best for
- Business teams making avatar ads on Captions on web, whose terms name advertising, and phone creators captioning and editing their own footage.
- Skip it if
- you need a fixed cost per hook: the rate is an average, and individual credits cannot be bought.
MakeUGC: no credit cost per video published
MakeUGC says a video’s credit cost “depends on model, duration and resolution” and does not publish it. Start up is $59 a month for 500 credits (MakeUGC pricing). Users report it as faster and cheaper than briefing creators for hook tests (3 of 29: YouTube, YouTube).
- Best for
- Direct-response teams testing many UGC and B-roll variants, with Batch Mode from Growth and product-in-hand video from Pro or an API plan.
- Skip it if
- you budget hooks before buying: the cost per video is not published, and credits expire each month.
JoggAI: about 100 credits a minute
JoggAI’s Starter card puts 144,000 credits at about 1,440 minutes of avatar video, so about 100 credits a minute (JoggAI pricing). Monthly Starter is $29 a month for 12,000 credits; no rounding rule is published. Renders that stall or queue for hours draw complaints (8 of 40: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
- Best for
- High-volume talking-avatar output on a small budget, and teams that want the same credits in the web app, the API and agent tools.
- Skip it if
- you want a refund on unused credits: the terms rule refunds out except where the law requires.
Free AI hook generators
Claude Free, ChatGPT Free and Gemini’s free plan write hooks at no cost, and Atria starts with 1,000 free credits. Rendering free is narrower.
The rights matrix reads JoggAI’s free plan “Allowed with conditions” for paid ads, and Captions’ and Creatify’s unclear (JoggAI, Captions, Creatify). JoggAI’s 200 free credits last 31 days; Creatify’s 10 a month buy 2 hooks at 15-second billing, watermarked.
What ten video hooks cost to render, tool by tool
JoggAI costs least, if its unpublished rounding stays pro rata. Creatify’s rounding makes ten 3-second hooks cost the same as ten 15-second ads.
| Tool | Plan and price | Billing unit | Rounding rule as published | Credits for ten hooks | Cost if every credit is used |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| JoggAI | Starter, $29 a month | About 100 credits a minute | None published (pro rata) | 50 | $0.12 |
| Captions | Max, $24.99 a month | 16 credits every 6 seconds | None published (pro rata) | 80 | $4.00 |
| Creatify | Starter, $39 a month | 5 credits per 15 seconds | Rounded up | 50 | $19.50 |
| Arcads | Starter, Not published | 800 credits a minute per actor | Rounded up; the step is longer than 15 seconds | More than 2,000 | Not published |
| MakeUGC | Start up, $59 a month | Not published | Not published | Not published | Not published |

Method: credit price is the monthly plan price divided by its credits.
Billed in whole 6-second blocks, Captions’ ten hooks use 160 credits, $8.00. Arcads: more than 200 credits per 3-second hook (method as on the Arcads profile).

Hooks for TikTok, Reels and Instagram
A hook rendered by an AI actor carries the same label duty as the rest of the ad. TikTok asks for an AI label on ads whose media is completely AI-generated or significantly modified by AI (TikTok AI label guide). Meta’s rules for Reels and Instagram ads are in the Meta AI disclosure guide. Formats and lengths per placement: TikTok ad specs.
Reading which hook worked
Motion and Superads measure hooks in different ways. Motion’s AI tags group ads by hook so you compare results across one hook type. Superads prints its own hook score on each ad, beside hold, click and conversion scores; both are vendor-defined metrics.
Meta’s creative test runs 2 to 7 copies of an ad inside an existing campaign at no fee, and “A confidence level is not included.” How to read a hook test: creative testing framework.
What advertisers ask about hooks on Reddit
In our Arctic Shift pull of 23 September 2026, 44 of 1,873 AI-creative posts use the word “hook” or “hooks” in the title or excerpt.
By subreddit: r/FacebookAds 13, r/UGCcreators 11, r/PPC 11, r/TikTokAds 3, r/dropship 3, r/dropshipping 2 and r/ecommerce 1. Three titles, verbatim:
- “I do UGC for a living, AI hooks are technically perfect and yet never go viral” (r/UGCcreators, 16 June 2026)
- “How do you right your hooks/ scripts?” (r/UGCcreators, 2 April 2026)
- ““Hook” problem: what’s your current strategy for the first 1.5 seconds?” (r/TikTokAds, 26 April 2026)
The tally counts keyword matches in one dated pull; it measures no sentiment.
Left out, and why
Embarque.io, Akkio, Voila, Landingi, FlowHunt and the “Hooks” iOS app offer free hook generators. Their prices and terms sit outside this list.
