MakeUGC for UGC ads
Verdict on MakeUGC
MakeUGC suits AI-actor hook testing; 17 of 29 user reviews report charges after cancelling or failed cancellations. Its API docs price a talking-actor video at 100 credits (API docs). On API Starter at $99 a month, read on , that is $4.95 a video if every credit is used (pricing page).
MakeUGC’s terms page prints clause 3.2(a) three times, and one copy ties output ownership to an active subscription.

What MakeUGC makes for ads
MakeUGC turns a script into a short UGC-style video read by an AI actor. Its pricing page lists “1000+ realistic AI creators” and “50+ languages”, and its feature menu adds B-roll, gesture videos and custom avatars.
Product-in-hand video, an actor holding your product while speaking, is on Pro among the app plans and on both API plans.
The API docs list three models for it. Nova V2 takes up to 90 seconds of audio, Omi-Human up to 30 and Veo one to four scenes.
3 of 29 public reviews say product-in-hand and talking-actor clips pass in a fast-scrolling feed (Trustpilot, YouTube). 5 of 29 say lip sync drifts and hands move oddly, so each clip needs a human check (YouTube, YouTube).
What MakeUGC costs, and what the one-dollar trial turns into
MakeUGC has no free plan. Its monthly app plans run from $59 a month to $149 a month for Pro with 2,000 credits, read on (pricing page). Pro also sells 3,000 and 5,000 credits at $199 and $249 a month.
API Starter, sold as “API access for integrations”, lists product-in-hand with the same 2,000 credits as Pro, at $99 a month against $149 a month (pricing page).
| Plan | Monthly (USD a month) | Billed yearly (USD a month) | Credits a month | What the card adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Start up | $59 | $29 | 500 | Selected models only |
| Growth | $79 | $39 | 1,000 | All models, Batch Mode |
| Pro | $149 | $79 | 2,000 | Product-in-hand, Video Agent, PDF to video |
| API Starter | $99 | $50 | 2,000 | API access, product-in-hand, Batch Mode |
| API Pro | $299 | $150 | 6,000 | 5x concurrency, priority queue |

Each monthly card’s button reads “Start for $1”. Only the Pro card says what follows the dollar: “Renews at $149” (pricing page). The Start up and Growth cards show their monthly price above the same button, with no renewal line.
Every app card also ticks a year of unlimited Nano Banana 2 images. The FAQ says Unlimited “only activates after your $1 trial ends and your first full billing cycle begins”.
The page also has a Quarterly tab, read on 2 October 2026: Start up at $41, Growth at $55 and Pro at $104, each “per month, billed quarterly”.
The trial policy, effective 2 January 2026, states no trial length. The checkout links behind the monthly buttons are labelled trial72h, and the quarterly and yearly ones trial24h.
The policy allows one trial per person or business (2.1). Its list of abuse includes a card or billing address linked to another trial, and VPNs used to evade detection (3.2). An agency starting trials for several clients on one card falls under 3.2(b) and (c).
Where MakeUGC determines, acting reasonably, that trial abuse has occurred or is likely, it may charge the plan’s full monthly fee (trial policy 4.1, 4.2). The charge goes through at once and without further notice.
3 of 29 public reviews say the trial’s credits are too few to judge the product before the full plan bills (Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
MakeUGC’s pricing page publishes no credit cost per video. Its FAQ says each generation costs credits “depending on the model, duration, and resolution”, and “unused credits expire at the end of the month”.
The API docs publish rates: 100 credits per talking-actor video (rate limits). The rate is flat per video, for scripts up to 1,500 characters. Product-in-hand costs 100 credits on Nova V2, and on Omi-Human 100 under 15 seconds or 200 up to 30. Veo costs 100 a scene on fast and 200 on pro.
On API Starter at $99 a month (pricing page), read on , 2,000 credits make 20 talking-actor videos: $4.95 each, if every credit is used. The docs do not say whether app plans bill at the same rates.
$4.95 per video at list price on API Starter at $99 a month, if every credit is used. API Starter 99 dollars a month / 2,000 credits = 0.0495 dollars a credit; POST /video/generate costs 100 credits per video, scripts up to 1,500 characters (makeugc.ai/docs/api/v1/rate-limits, read 2 October 2026) = 4.95 dollars, if every credit is used. The app pricing page publishes no per-video rate.

Who owns MakeUGC ads after you cancel
MakeUGC’s terms page disagrees with itself. Two copies keep ownership after you cancel, provided you complied with the terms when the output was made. The third copy’s heading ties it to an active subscription.
| Copy | Heading | Text |
|---|---|---|
| First and second | Ownership of Output | “You own all rights, title, and interest in and to any Output generated through the Services, including after your Subscription ends, provided you complied with these Terms at the time the Output was generated.” |
| Third | Ownership Conditioned on an Active Subscription | “You own all rights in Output generated while your Subscription is active, subject to your compliance with these Terms.” |
Scroll sideways for all 3 columns
All three copies keep clause 7.3: “Termination does not affect your ownership rights to previously generated Output.” All three grant “a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, assignable, and sublicensable licence” to commercialise outputs “without obligation to attribute MakeUGC” (3.2(c)).
The Fair Use Policy points the other way: outputs “are licensed to users only if they have a valid and active paid subscription” (section 6). Content “must not be sold, sublicensed, or used in external platforms without the appropriate subscription level or licensing agreement in place”.
Neither the terms nor the Fair Use Policy says which text wins. The trial policy, which binds trial users, says that in any conflict “the Company’s determination shall prevail to the extent permitted by law” (7.2).
An ad still running after you cancel rests on the first two copies and 7.3, against the Fair Use Policy’s section 6. The third copy’s text covers Output “generated while your Subscription is active” and does not say ownership ends with it. The AI commercial use matrix lists each MakeUGC clause by use.
What MakeUGC’s terms allow in paid ads
MakeUGC’s terms bar using the service to “engage in fraud, impersonation, deception, or misleading commercial practices” (5(b)), or to “deploy Output in contexts where AI-disclosure is legally required but omitted” (5(f)).
The Fair Use Policy describes the platform as making “brand stories, avatar-led testimonials, and promotional assets” (section 1). Its section 7 reads: “Misuse of AI outputs to impersonate real people, fabricate testimonials, or make deceptive claims is strictly forbidden”. An AI actor saying it has used your product for weeks is a testimonial nobody gave.
Section 4 of the Fair Use Policy also bars scripts or avatars promoting “pseudoscience” without defining the word. That matters for supplement and wellness hooks.
No clause in the terms, Fair Use Policy or Custom Avatar Policy names stock AI creators in paid ads. The rights matrix rates stock avatars in ads Unclear, and paid ads on MakeUGC Allowed with conditions.
The terms add that MakeUGC “does not guarantee non-infringement”, and “You are solely responsible for verifying rights before commercial use” (3.4). A custom avatar may only use likenesses and voices “fully licensed or owned by the User” (Custom Avatar Policy, 4a).

Is MakeUGC legit? What its documents and Trustpilot show
MakeUGC’s documents name two UK-registered companies, and Trustpilot shows its rating as unavailable for a guideline breach.
The terms say MakeUGC “is operated by Cinnamon Technology Limited”, registered in England and Wales. The trial policy and Fair Use Policy name Make Media Limited, trading as MakeUGC (company number 15632662 in the trial policy). The documents do not say how the two companies relate.
Plans renew until cancelled (6.1), and “You may cancel at any time via Account settings” (7.1). Clause 6.3 says “Payments are non-refundable except where required by law”.
The Refund Policy, last updated 4 September 2025, goes further than 6.3. It refunds in full within three business days of buying or renewing, “provided credits have not been substantially consumed” (3.1). Under half the credits used may get half back, and nothing is refunded once a plan has been active two weeks (3.2, 3.3).
17 of 29 public reviews report charges after cancelling or cancellations that fail or need an email. All 17 are Trustpilot reviews from July to September 2026 (Trustpilot, Trustpilot). One writes: “Ive canceled my subscription 5 months in a row but I STILL get charged.”
5 of 29 say support is hard to reach and refunds come partly or not at all (Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
On 2 October 2026, MakeUGC’s Trustpilot page read: “This company’s rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines.” It showed 199 reviews, 46 per cent at five stars and 50 per cent at one, and the line “We’ve removed a number of fake reviews for this company.” On 28 September it showed 208.
A run of short five-star reviews posted from 13 to 15 July 2026, several describing other products, is left out of our counts. On 28 September 2026 MakeUGC had no G2 or Capterra listing and one Product Hunt review.
