Privacy and cookies

Published Last checked What changed

adtestbench has no accounts, no comments and no newsletter, so the only data it handles is what a visit to the site creates.

What the site measures

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits: which pages are read, how readers arrive, the type of device and browser, and an approximate region. Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses. The figures tell us which pages help readers and which need work. They are never sold and never used for advertising.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<container-id>, which last up to two years. They hold a random ID and nothing else.

Visitors in the UK, the EU and the European Economic Area see a notice on their first visit, and analytics stays off until they accept it. Elsewhere, analytics is on and the same notice lets you switch it off. Your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage, and the Cookie settings link in the footer reopens the notice at any time.

Hosting and email

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes each request (including the IP address) to deliver pages and stop abuse. Mail to contact@adtestbench.com passes through Cloudflare Email Routing to the editor’s inbox and is used only to answer you.

Tool links leave adtestbench for the vendor’s site. A link marked Paid link tells the vendor that you came from here, which is how commission works (who pays us). What happens on the vendor’s site is covered by the vendor’s own privacy policy.

Your data

To ask what data relates to you, or to have it deleted, write to contact@adtestbench.com. You can also clear the analytics cookies in your browser settings, or block Google Analytics with a browser extension.
