AI creative testing tools, mapped by job

By Alexandre Souriau Updated Last checked What changed

Verdict on AI creative testing tools

Start with Meta’s free Ad Library and its creative test, and pay only for the job they leave out. Foreplay (foreplay.co) is flat at $59 a month (pricing), while Motion (motionapp.com) charges $750 a month up to $50,000 of monthly spend (pricing, checked ).

But Meta’s test reports no confidence level, and its library shows no spend on ordinary ads, archiving only those that reached the EU or UK.

For saving competitors’ ads at a flat price: Foreplay

No plan is priced by ad spend, as its pricing page states; Basic is one user with the swipe file, ad search and briefs.

Ad libraries, spy tools and product finders charge by plan. Only the platforms that report on your own ads are priced by ad spend, and Foreplay’s Lens is flat even there.

Do you need a paid creative testing tool?

Not for live tests: Meta’s creative test and A/B test run inside Ads Manager. Neither help page names a fee. An A/B test splits the audience so “nobody sees both” versions.

Meta’s creative test compares “up to 7 creative variants” in an existing campaign, on the Highest volume bid strategy only. Meta suggests spending “no more than 20%” of the budget on the test ads, over a duration and metric you set. Its help page adds: “A confidence level is not included.”

The creative testing budget calculator works out what such a test costs and how long it runs, from your cost per purchase.

A creative testing framework for Meta ads weighs a separate testing campaign against tests inside the live one.

Meta’s Ad Library holds “all active ads” and anyone can search it. For an ordinary product ad it shows no spend or impressions, wherever the ad ran. It adds reach figures and a one-year archive only if the ad reached the EU (or its associated territories) or the UK.

Foreplay saves ads “forever”, in its own words. Saved ads in MagicBrief, a rival that has since closed, had no bulk export (shutdown FAQ).

TikTok’s Top Ads page shows “high-performing auction ads”, sortable by reach or CTR.

Meta announced its ads MCP server in open beta on 29 April 2026, for reporting and campaign management from AI assistants. The announcement names no price. Motion, Foreplay (Workflow plan), Atria and Madgicx (MCP guide) sell MCP access. On our reading, Meta’s server leaves paid analytics tools their competitor libraries, creative tagging and cross-platform reports.

Can AI predict an ad’s results before you spend?

Not on published evidence. None of the AdCreative.ai pages we read shows a method for the figure on its Creative Scoring page. Neurons (neuronsinc.com) states its figures on its science page, and the method it publishes measures where people look.

Pre-launch accuracy claims, quoted from vendor pages read 25 Sep 2026
Tool and what the figure measures The claim, as written
AdCreative.ai Before launch: click-through rate and brand recall “get predictions with over 90% accuracy on which ads will deliver better performance and brand recall”
Neurons (neuronsinc.com) Before launch: customer responses and where people look “can predict customer responses with +95% accuracy”; “95%+ Accuracy of eye tracking AI tool”

Scroll sideways for all 2 columns

AdCreative.ai’s accuracy is unknown. Its help article (6 December 2024) says the Performance Score predicts “the click-through rate (CTR)” from “a dataset of more than 450 million ads”. Its subscriber terms (19 December 2025, 8.2.2) state that “AdCreative.ai is not responsible for the results of the activities for which the Client uses the Services.”

Neurons’ knowledge base sets its heatmaps against eye tracking of 100 to 150 people, at “over 95% accuracy”. It says the models were validated on a held-out portion of eye-tracking data from over 20,000 participants. On our reading, where people look is a different outcome from which ad sells.

Segwise’s pre-flight score rates new images and short videos out of 100, up to 10 at a time, before any spend. It compares each with “the ads already winning in your account” and adds “a confidence level”. The feature page gives no accuracy figure or validation study.

Four questions to put to a scoring vendor:

  • Which outcome it was measured against: clicks, sales, recall or eye tracking.
  • How many ads it was measured on, and from which platforms.
  • Whether those ads were held out of training.
  • Where the study is published.

Left out, and why

MagicBrief shut down on 31 July 2026 (MagicBrief). Its FAQ of 18 June 2025, written as Canva’s deal was announced, said it “will continue to operate as its own platform”.

Its team built Canva Grow instead (shutdown FAQ). On our reading, that argues for monthly billing on any tool a larger company has bought. Appier agreed to buy AdCreative.ai in February 2025 (PR Newswire).

Campaign-management tools are left out: those that run a Meta campaign, Zeely among them, are listed in best AI tools for Meta ads. Madgicx stays for its creative tagging. Ad generators that also score statics are on the static ads hub.
