Musk says SpaceXAI will be renamed SpaceXSI
The rename follows Trump’s order to say super intelligence in government; Musk gave no date and no legal detail.
Elon Musk said on Sunday 4 October 2026 that SpaceX is renaming its AI division from SpaceXAI to SpaceXSI. Asked on X whether the change was coming, he replied “Yes, we will make that change”, Fox Business reports.
The move tracks President Donald Trump’s executive order of 29 September, which tells federal agencies to replace artificial intelligence with super intelligence across federal websites and official documents. In the same run of posts, Musk wrote that SpaceX is a super intelligence company, Teslarati reports.
Counting from February, that is a third name. The xAI purchase closed on 2 February at a combined $1.25 trillion valuation, and SpaceXAI arrived on 6 July, according to Teslarati. Grok and Cursor sit in the unit, along with the X platform and the Memphis Colossus clusters. No date came with the posts, and nothing on whether this is a legal change of name or a new logo, or what happens to Grok.
For buyers of Grok or Cursor, nothing changes yet: Musk gave no date and did not say whether SpaceXSI is a legal rename or a new label.
