OpenAI’s GPT-6 models arrive on Google Cloud
GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna enter Google’s model catalogue in private preview, billed on the customer’s Google Cloud invoice.
OpenAI’s newest models are now on sale through Google’s cloud, the rented computing that many companies run their software on. On Wednesday 21 October 2026, Google Cloud said a first group of business customers can use GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna in a private preview inside its model garden, Google’s catalogue of AI models. Customers who want in fill in an interest form.
Luna is the quick, low-cost model for routine jobs. Astra is the top tier for coding and research, and Sol gets near it for less money. Customers pay through their usual Google Cloud invoice, and the spend counts against any cloud commitment they already hold. Google says data sent to these models stays within the boundary each customer sets and never trains any model. The models come to Gemini for business and the Antigravity coding tool later.
The deal puts OpenAI on all three of the biggest US cloud providers, CNBC reports. Microsoft held an exclusive licence to OpenAI’s technology until earlier this year; Amazon began hosting the models in April. Google now calls itself the only one of the three that carries all three leading closed models.
A company that already pays Google for its cloud can now ask for OpenAI’s models on the same invoice.
