Robinhood launched Robinhood Agents at its HOOD Summit in Houston on Tuesday 29 September 2026, PYMNTS reports. Customers name an agent, pick the model behind it and give it instructions in plain English, American Bazaar reports. The choices are OpenAI’s GPT-6 Luna and GPT-6 Sol and Anthropic’s Opus 4.8.

An agent can run a one-off order or a “Loop”, a standing strategy that runs on a schedule, overnight included, and trades only when the customer’s rules hold. Each agent trades from its own account, with transaction limits and an optional confirmation step. Robinhood says it releases access at random over the coming weeks, and that customers are responsible for their agents’ trades.

Robinhood says 15,000 customers have opened agentic trading accounts since May, and agents call its tools about 30 million times a day, PYMNTS reports. The company also plans weekend trading in selected US shares and ETFs.

Chief executive Vlad Tenev framed the launch as giving retail investors tools once kept for hedge funds and banks. For builders, it is a large consumer app handing an agent a funded account and spending limits, the same design the payment and checkout firms are moving towards.
