Anthropic puts $100 million into training 10,000 Claude engineers
The Claude Frontier Academy trains engineers from consultancies and large companies in a residency model, starting with eight organisations.
Anthropic launched the Claude Frontier Academy on Friday 2 October 2026, with $100 million to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers by the end of 2027. These are engineers who build Claude into a company’s own systems.
The first cohorts come from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk, and run in San Francisco, New York and London. Employers nominate the engineers. Each starts with several days of in-person training led by Anthropic staff, working through a simulated company deployment from choosing a use case to security review, then spends 12 weeks leading a real Claude project at their own organisation. Two assessments lead to Anthropic’s resident and deployed engineer badges.
Anthropic compares the format to a medical residency. Forkast reports that the first intake numbers about 100 engineers, and sets it beside Anthropic’s existing partner network, where professionals have earned more than 175,000 certifications.
For companies that hire consultancies to roll out AI, more of those consultants now arrive trained by a model vendor. Ask whose badge an engineer holds and what that vendor’s training covered.
