Apple adds an AI assistant and MCP to Keynote and Pages
The beta assistant, built on Apple’s and OpenAI’s models, edits slides, documents and spreadsheets, and outside AI agents can now plug into all three apps.
Apple is putting an AI assistant inside Keynote, Pages and Numbers. Ask it for a chart in Numbers, a rewrite in Pages or an animated slide in Keynote, and it works from what is already in your file, The Verge reported on 27 October 2026. Models from both Apple and OpenAI power it. Mac users on macOS 27 or later get a second change: an AI agent from another company can now operate the three apps through MCP, the Model Context Protocol, a common plug that connects AI agents to software.
The assistant is a beta in US English for Apple Creator Studio subscribers, on Apple Intelligence devices running iOS 27, iPadOS 27 or macOS 27, iGeeksBlog reported on 23 October, citing Apple’s App Store release notes. The assistant can pull fresh facts from the web into a file as well. Pixelmator Pro gains a Generate Fill tool and Logic Pro an assistant for preparing vocal recordings, The Verge adds.
Some AI ad tools already use MCP. Our guide to Higgsfield’s MCP server, checked 27 October 2026, shows Claude driving Higgsfield’s image and video tools through it, and every call spends Higgsfield credits.
Because Keynote now accepts outside agents over the same protocol Higgsfield’s server uses, one agent session can reach both, and any Higgsfield images it makes for a slide are charged as Higgsfield credits; Apple has not said which Keynote actions its MCP support exposes.
