Legal AI firm Legora raises $550 million at $8.8 billion
The Stockholm start-up, whose AI agents draft and check legal work, says its yearly revenue passed $200 million and in-house legal teams made up over 40 per cent of its new customers last quarter.
Legora, a Stockholm company that sells AI software to lawyers, raised $550 million on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at a valuation of $8.8 billion, including the new money. Atreides Management led the round, joined by new backers such as Fidelity, Capital Group and J.P. Morgan, Legora says.
Legora calls its product an agentic operating system: a workspace where lawyers hand AI agents multi-step jobs such as drafting, document checks and legal research. Over 2,400 law firms and company legal departments in more than 80 markets use it, adding up to more than 140,000 legal professionals.
Legora now books more than $200 million a year in recurring subscription revenue. It added its second $100 million in less than six months, after a first $100 million that took under 18 months from a $1 million start. The US now brings in more revenue than any other country, and company legal teams were over 40 per cent of third-quarter sign-ups.
In April, Legora was valued at $5.6 billion. Its main rival, Harvey, raised the same $550 million last month at $15.5 billion, TechCrunch reports. Legora will spend the money expanding in Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America, where it already runs seven offices, City AM reports.
Legora and Harvey have now each raised $550 million within a month of each other.
