Muse, Meta’s AI assistant app that can carry out tasks for you, has been downloaded 10.9 million times since its September launch, 10.2 million of them in the US. The figures come from Sensor Tower, a firm that estimates app downloads, and TechCrunch reported them on Tuesday 20 October 2026. That puts it in a club of 12 apps to reach 10 million US downloads inside 40 days; Threads, also from Meta, joined in July 2023.

Meta is paying for a good part of that. It put 39 per cent of its advertising spend in October behind Muse, up from 23 per cent in September, Sensor Tower says. People also keep using it: 30 per cent of US users are still active a week after installing. For Grok, Claude and ChatGPT the average is 19 per cent.

Sensor Tower estimates Muse reached 2.5 million daily users for the first time on 16 October, Yahoo Finance reports. ChatGPT’s US downloads, meanwhile, fell 25 per cent in the last 30 days against the 30 before. Muse is available only in the US and Canada, 9to5Mac notes alongside a recent privacy scare over shared chats.

For advertisers, Muse is now the 21st-largest US brand by ad impressions this month, up from 73rd in September, Sensor Tower says.
