Nvidia and AMD put $4 billion into Meta’s share sale

The two chipmakers will buy $3 billion and $1 billion of the shares Meta is selling to pay for AI, and both say their hardware runs its Muse agent.

Two of Meta’s chip suppliers are now buying its shares. Nvidia is putting $3 billion into the share sale Meta announced on Monday, and AMD $1 billion, CNBC reported on 27 October 2026. We covered Meta’s plan to raise $95 billion for its AI build-out, $35 billion of it first through underwritten public offerings. That same announcement named Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom as possible buyers of up to $5 billion of the stock.

Meta is adding more Nvidia hardware, including Vera Rubin systems and Vera chips, Nvidia’s announcement says, and the two companies are widening their work on Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent, and its models. AMD’s Helios server racks are already installed at Meta, and its EPYC chips power Muse, according to AMD as quoted by CNBC. Nvidia has joined 121 funding rounds this year, CNBC writes, citing Dealroom.

For advertisers, Meta’s AI spending shows up in Ads Manager. Meta’s chief executive said on the second-quarter call that 9 million small businesses use at least one of its AI ad creative tools, figure F6 on our count of AI-made ads. Meta’s posts, read on 23 September 2026, list no separate fee for those tools: you pay for the ads.

The chipmakers that bought in, $4 billion of the up to $5 billion Meta said they were interested in, are the ones that say their systems run Muse, so part of the money Meta raises for AI flows back to them as hardware orders, while the 9 million small businesses on its AI creative tools still pay only for the ads.
