SpaceXSI releases Grok Voice 3.0 for AI phone agents
The speech model tops an independent voice AI ranking and keeps its predecessor’s price of eight cents a minute, the company says.
SpaceXSI, the AI company formerly called xAI, released Grok Voice 3.0 on Wednesday 14 October 2026, the company announced. It is a speech-to-speech model: it hears a caller and answers out loud in one step, which suits AI agents that take customer phone calls.
Artificial Analysis, an independent firm that ranks AI models, puts it first on its speech-to-speech index at 86.9 points. OpenAI’s GPT-Live-1 sits at 83.2 on the same index and Google’s Gemini 3.8 Live at 82.6, SiliconANGLE reports. OpenAI’s model still edges ahead on Tau-Voice, a measure of support calls full of strong accents and background noise.
The price stays at $0.08 a minute in the Voice Agent API, the same as Grok Voice 2.0, SpaceXSI says. The company says Starlink’s call centres use the model for about 20,000 calls a day. SpaceXSI says about 70 per cent of them need no human at all. Agents set to the latest version moved to the new model automatically.
For a business pricing an AI phone agent, an hour of Grok Voice 3.0 costs $4.80 in the API.
