What Icon’s terms give you

Not legal advice Icon’s terms carry no date. Ask a lawyer before you rely on any reading of them.

Icon’s terms make you owner of every ad. “You are and will be the sole and exclusive owner of all right, title and interest in and to all Brand Content” (IP Rights Granted in Content). Creators’ work is “work made for hire”, and they assign anything outside that to you “irrevocably and in perpetuity”.

You may also cut variants from the footage with AI. Under Derivative Brand Content, you are “free to utilize any tool, including artificial intelligence service or a third party content creator”.

The Content Creation Policy makes creators “ensure all applicable FTC and social media platform rules and policies are followed”. It names no publicity or likeness right for the people on camera, so the rights matrix marks likeness unclear.

The terms point to “Section 7 (Term and Termination)”, which the published text does not contain, and hold no cancellation clause. Each side’s liability stops at $100.

The Refunds clause reads: “Except where required by applicable law or where Icon expressly offers a refund or money-back guarantee, all fees are non-refundable.” The pricing page offers one: “Full refund if you don’t love your ads”.

What Icon’s partner line says about New York’s 9 June 2026 law

Not legal advice Ask a lawyer before you rely on any reading of these laws.

Icon’s partner page gives affiliates a post format headed “AI UGC is illegal as of June 9, 2026”, with the brief: “Say AI UGC is illegal as of June 9, 2026. Tie Icon’s pivot from AI to humans into this.”

New York’s S8420-A, in force since 9 June 2026, sets a disclosure duty. A business that deals in the advertised product or service and “for any commercial purpose produces or creates an advertisement” for it “shall conspicuously disclose in such advertisement that a synthetic performer is in such advertisement, where such person has actual knowledge” (subdivision 3).

The FTC’s testimonial rule (16 CFR 465.2) makes it a violation “for a business to write, create, or sell” a consumer review or testimonial that “materially misrepresents, expressly or by implication” certain facts. Its points (1) and (2) name two: that the testimonialist exists, and that they “used or otherwise had experience with” the product.

California’s SB 1050 requires a “clear and conspicuous disclosure” in an ad that “prominently includes a synthetic performer”. It applies from 1 January 2027, the start date California’s constitution (Article IV, section 8(c)(1)) sets for a regular-session statute.

What each rule asks of an AI actor ad: AI ad disclosure rules and is AI UGC legal.

Where to make AI ads now

Icon’s 10 February 2026 homepage sold The AI Admaker with the line “Plan, create, & run 1000s of winning ads end-to-end” (archived copy). The same page listed AdCreative, Creatify, Arcads and MakeUGC among the tools it “Replaces”, and each of the four still sells AI ads.

Creatify turns a product URL or script into avatar video ads, and has a free plan. On Starter at $39 a month, a 30-second avatar ad costs $3.90 if every credit is used (pricing, ). More in Creatify for ads.

Arcads makes script-to-video ads read by AI actors and publishes no price list. Its credits article bills talking actors at 800 credits a minute per actor, length rounded up (Arcads for ads).

MakeUGC makes UGC-style video with AI creators and B-roll. Start up lists $59 a month, and the credit cost of a video is not published (pricing, ; MakeUGC for ads).

AdCreative.ai makes static banners. Starter at $39 a month works out at $3.90 per image if every credit is used (pricing, ; AdCreative.ai for ads).
