What one Nano Banana image costs on Google’s API
Method: $0.067 per image at list price. Gemini API, Nano Banana 2, standard tier: image output is $60 per 1M tokens and a 1K (1024x1024) image uses 1,120 tokens, so 1,120 x $60 / 1,000,000 = $0.0672, which Google rounds to $0.067. Input tokens are extra. The same arithmetic gives $0.134 for Nano Banana Pro at 1K ($120 per 1M tokens). App subscriptions state no image quantity, so no per-image cost is computed for them.
Google bills images as output tokens. A 1K Nano Banana 2 image is 1,120 tokens at the model’s token rate, and input tokens cost extra (Gemini API pricing). Batch mode halves the output price for jobs that can wait.

Is Nano Banana free, and can free images run in ads?
Yes in the Gemini app, with limits; no on the API. The free app makes and edits images with Nano Banana 2 and downloads them at 1K. Its compute-based limits refresh every 5 hours up to a weekly cap (Google AI plans). Google publishes no image count for it. Free accounts get limited Nano Banana Pro access in Flow.
The Gemini API lists no free tier for image output (Gemini API pricing).
On ownership, Google’s terms say “Google won’t claim ownership over that content” (Google Terms of Service). The API terms add that Google “may generate the same or similar content for others” (Gemini API Additional Terms). Neither set of terms says whether outputs may run in paid ads, on any plan, free included (rights data).
Users report a visible Gemini mark on app images beside Google’s invisible SynthID watermark. It leaves them unsure about commercial use (2 of 38 sources: r/nanobanana, r/nanobanana). The Nano Banana profile covers when the visible mark appears.
What Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra buy for images
Higher usage limits, with no image count. Plus at $4.99 a month doubles the free limits and adds 2K downloads and “Redo with Nano Banana Pro”. Pro at $19.99 a month gives four times the free limits; Ultra at $99.99 a month gives five times Pro’s (Google AI plans). The same plan name also sells at $199.99 for twenty times Pro’s limits, as of .
Since no plan states an image count, this page computes no cost per image for any of them. In the app, Pro runs as a redo step and stops once the daily Nano Banana 2 quota is used (Google AI plans).
Users report the limits moving. Paid subscribers get smaller or compressed files (4 of 38 sources: r/GeminiAI, r/GeminiAI). Daily limits drop without warning (4 of 38 sources: r/nanobanana, r/GeminiAI).

Picsart’s Nano Banana 2 image costs 1.3 times Google’s 1K rate, the only reseller row where model and resolution both match. Pixelcut’s price sits above Google’s 4K rate for the same model, at more than three times $0.151, whatever resolution it serves (Pixelcut pricing).
OpenArt’s figure rests on its page script’s estimate of 40 credits per image, and Plus is its cheapest tier with commercial use (OpenArt pricing). Pencil counts “Every image generated”, whatever its resolution.
Higgsfield publishes no per-model rate, and Topview sells unlimited Nano Banana for a year on Plus with no per-image figure, so neither has a row. The static ads hub compares the same resellers on their own tools.
Which model does a “Nano Banana” price buy?
Four Google models carry the name, and a price is only comparable when it names one. The original, gemini-2.5-flash-image, shuts down on 2 October 2026, replaced by gemini-3.1-flash-image-preview, the id the deprecations page gives Nano Banana 2 (Gemini API deprecations).
Nano Banana 2 has been the Gemini app’s default since 26 February 2026 (Google). A reseller price with no model id does not say which one you get. Users report Google swapping models under them (5 of 38 sources: r/nanobanana, r/nanobanana).
