Facebook’s AI answer pages reach 6 million in Google’s index
SEO consultant Glenn Gabe calls the /fb-answers/ directory scaled content abuse, Semrush estimates put it at 40 million monthly visits, and Meta had said nothing as of 3 November.
Meta has put millions of AI-written pages built from Facebook posts into Google’s index. About 6 million URLs under facebook.com/fb-answers/ are indexed, Search Engine Roundtable reported on 5 November 2026, and they appear in AI Mode, in AI Overviews and in the ordinary list of results.
Each page is an AI summary of a topic with public posts as its cited sources. Search specialist Saul Westbrook of Peripheral Creative documented the directory, and Semrush estimates in his post show it going from about 1 million worldwide visits in July to about 40.6 million in October. He finds it ranking for queries such as the Las Vegas airport and Labcorp, and found pages giving medical and crypto advice.
SEO consultant Glenn Gabe calls it scaled content abuse, Google’s term for mass-producing pages to manipulate rankings. Neither source reports any public action by Google. Westbrook says Meta had not spoken publicly as of 3 November and that he found posts from as far back as 2010 used as sources, including one from a group of six people. He also found that Facebook blocks AI crawlers from these pages, while Google’s AI Overviews cite them.
For scale, a marketer who wants generated pages pays a subscription: Jasper Pro at $69 a seat a month and Copy.ai Chat at $29 a month for five seats, on our 6 November check. Meta drew on what its users had already written.
Westbrook found comments and group posts cited beside brand pages, so a Google search for site:facebook.com/fb-answers/ with your brand name lists the indexed AI pages that mention you, built partly on posts other people wrote.
