Meta lets AI agents create apps on its developer platform

Four of them write. They create an app, create a Business Portfolio (the Meta business account that owns apps and ad assets), link the two and add a use case such as WhatsApp Business messaging. The other two only read, listing existing portfolios and the use cases an app can take. Before any write, the agent stops and waits for the developer’s yes. The app secret, the key that proves an app is genuine, stays in Meta’s App Dashboard and never appears in the conversation.

Once a use case is added, its permissions apply and the server cannot take it off again, according to Meta’s documentation, PPC Land reports. Meta’s post says the tools are reaching accounts gradually, while its documentation still lists them as not yet available and caps app and portfolio creation at 15 calls a day each.

Because the server cannot remove a use case once added, the developer’s yes before that write is the last point to stop a WhatsApp permission being granted, and it covers app setup only, since Meta’s ads connectors run on a separate server.
