Some ChatGPT ads now send clicks through Amazon’s DSP
Links in some ChatGPT ads now run through Amazon’s click tracking, a sign of the September pilot that lets brands buy ChatGPT ads via Amazon.
Some ads inside ChatGPT now send clicks through Amazon’s ad tracking, a sign brands bought them through Amazon. On 26 October 2026, Search Engine Roundtable relayed a LinkedIn post by Juozas Kaziukėnas, who traced some ChatGPT ads to Amazon DSP, Amazon’s system for buying ad space automatically across many sites. Their links passed through Amazon’s click-tracking server. The same report shows a new layout in some ChatGPT ads, with a dotted Learn more link and an upward arrow.
Retail Dive reported the route as a US pilot on 11 September. Placement stays with OpenAI: its systems pick when and where each ad shows. Amazon’s part is the service around it. Its team helps build and tune each campaign, and the brand pays per click or per thousand impressions. Delta Vacations was among the first brands named, and those taking part get aggregated figures for impressions, clicks and cost. Kaziukėnas says he has seen no other advertiser using it yet.
Retail Dive describes the units as a block of text or an image below ChatGPT’s reply, marked as sponsored, on the free and Go plans only. Our ChatGPT entry, read on 23 September 2026, records the Go plan as one that “may include ads”, with its US price unverified.
OpenAI keeps every delivery decision, so an ad bought through Amazon reaches the same Free and Go users under the same answers; what Amazon changes is who builds the campaign and which figures come back.
