Artlist is a stock library with AI; Higgsfield is AI only

Artlist is a stock library with an AI Suite; Higgsfield sells AI generation only.

Artlist sells licences for music, sound effects, footage, templates, LUTs and plugins. Its AI Suite adds generators for video and stills, plus voiceover and songs, paid for in monthly credits. The pricing FAQ, captured 7 October 2026, tells you to “start by choosing what you need: AI tools, stock assets, or both”.

A creator walks through Artlist Studio, the film workflow inside Artlist’s AI tools Video: How to Use Artlist Studio to Create AI Films, Tim Harris AI on YouTube, .

That choice matters if you already pay Artlist. Stock sits on what Artlist calls “Stock Catalog” plans, such as Music & SFX or Footage & Templates. AI sits on AI plans. Max is the plan that “includes everything Artlist has to offer”, with 7,500 to 120,000 credits a month.

Higgsfield resells other companies’ video and image models in one web app. Beside them sit its own Soul image models, Cinema Studio camera controls and a directory of apps. The Higgsfield guide walks through each one.

The model menus overlap heavily. Artlist’s video generator, captured 7 September 2026, listed Seedance, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Wan 3.0 and Grok Video. Higgsfield runs Kling, Seedance, Veo, Wan and Grok Imagine on one balance too. The difference is what surrounds the models: a stock catalogue on one side, Higgsfield’s own studios on the other.

Higgsfield publishes each model’s credit cost; Artlist does not

Artlist’s credit counts look far larger, but the two shops’ credits are different units, and only Higgsfield publishes what each model costs.

Artlist AI Starter costs $19.99 a month for 16,500 credits (Artlist pricing). The yearly rate is $11.99 a month billed yearly.

Artlist's pricing page, AI Suite tab, yearly billing: AI Starter US$11.99 a month with 16,500 credits, AI Core US$23.99 with 40,000 credits, AI Creator US$41.67 with 80,000 credits, and a Custom Business plan

Higgsfield Starter costs $15 a month for 200 credits, the same on monthly or yearly billing (Higgsfield pricing). Plus costs $49 a month for 1,000.

Higgsfield's pricing page on annual billing: Starter at $19 a month with 270 credits, Plus at $47 ($59 struck through) with 1,200 credits, Ultra at $99 ($129 struck through) with 3,000 credits, and team plans from $65 a seat

Each shop sets its own price per model.

Higgsfield’s pricing page put Kling 3.0 at about 7 credits for 5 seconds at 720p. Veo 3.1 Fast cost about 16 credits for 4 seconds, on 19 October 2026. So Starter’s 200 credits buy about 28 short Kling clips or 12 Veo Fast clips.

Artlist’s pricing page gives “up to” video counts per plan and does not say which model or clip length they assume. Every Artlist plan and its check date sit in the price tracker.

Artlist’s FAQ says “your credits renew every month” and does not say whether unused credits carry over. Higgsfield’s subscription credits expire at each renewal, and packs after 90 days (help centre).

“Unlimited” differs. Artlist’s covers “select leading models” on yearly AI Core and above, slowing to standard speed after a monthly quota of fast generations. Higgsfield’s 11 September 2026 plan table gives it to six image models, plus a 7-day Kling 3.0 window on Ultra. Both ban automation and shared logins.

Artlist's AI Core and AI Creator cards: 'License covers commercial use' on every plan, and the models each plan runs without credits, with 700 and 900 monthly fast generations

Refund refusals lead Higgsfield complaints; one login leads the praise

Refund refusals and the slow “Unlimited” queue lead 52 public Higgsfield sources from January to September 2026; the single login and consistent characters lead the praise.

  • Refunds refused once any credit is used, accidental annual purchases included (9 of 52 sources: Trustpilot)
  • “Unlimited” runs one generation at a time on a slow shared queue (8 of 52 sources: Trustpilot, Reddit)
  • One login and one credit balance for Kling, Veo and Seedance (6 of 52 sources: YouTube, YouTube)
  • Characters and products stay consistent across shots through Soul ID (5 of 52 sources: YouTube, Reddit)

Licence for ads

Both allow commercial use with conditions; Artlist keeps more of your data out of training, and both reserve an indemnity for their top plan.

Artlist’s pricing page says every AI plan’s “License covers commercial use”. Its terms (2 July 2026) assign you Artlist’s rights in an output, “if any”, and say it “does not restrict your commercial use of such Output” (section 14). Section 15 bars false advertising and passing outputs off as human-made to deceive.

The stock catalogue runs on a separate Artlist License. Section 14 also says AI content that Artlist itself offers you counts as an “Asset” under that licence. So AI clips Artlist supplies follow the stock licence’s rules, while your own generations follow section 14.

Higgsfield’s terms (26 July 2026) say it does not “restrict your commercial use of Outputs” (4.4). Section 8 adds each model maker’s policy, and the stricter rule governs. Section 5.2(xi) bars presenting an output as “human-generated when it is not”.

Higgsfield Terms of Use Agreement, section 4.4: Higgsfield does not claim ownership of Inputs or Outputs and does not restrict commercial use of Outputs; outputs may be used to train its models

On paid plans Higgsfield adds no visible watermark, and its help article says it “may embed invisible, machine-readable markers”.

Why does my generation have a watermark?

Paid plans don’t add a visible Higgsfield watermark to your generations, whether they’re credit-based, free generations included in your plan, or Unlimited models. Separately, Higgsfield may embed invisible, machine-readable markers or metadata that identify content as AI-generated: they aren’t a visible watermark and don’t appear on your image or video.

The watermark depends on your account type, not on the model, the credits used, or the output quality. On a free account, every generation carries a Higgsfield watermark. On any paid plan, generations come without a watermark. There is no separate watermark setting to switch on or off. The visible watermark is separate from the invisible, machine-readable markers Higgsfield may embed in AI-generated content; those markers aren’t visible in your file and aren’t removed by upgrading.

Higgsfield’s help article says paid plans add no visible watermark, while invisible markers may be embedded. Higgsfield, Why is there a watermark,

Training is the sharpest difference. Higgsfield 4.4 lets it train on your inputs and outputs unless you hold an Enterprise Agreement. Artlist’s section 14 says it “contractually prohibits most third-party Model providers” from training on your data, and flags in the app the models that allow it.

For a brand that needs legal cover, Artlist lists “legal indemnification” on Custom Business. Higgsfield’s help centre limits its IP indemnity to Enterprise. Clause by clause: Artlist and Higgsfield in the rights matrix.

When each one wins

Pick Artlist when you already license its music and footage and want AI clips under the same roof. Max covers both, and section 14 bars most of Artlist’s model providers from training on your files.

A creator runs Higgsfield and Artlist side by side Video: Higgsfield vs Artlist: I Tested Both, Here’s the Winner, CREATIVES SUMAN on YouTube, .

Pick Higgsfield when the job is AI video and stills alone, and you want each model’s credit cost in view before you press Generate. Its Starter costs less than Artlist’s AI Starter on monthly billing.

Two other shops resell the same models on credit plans: OpenArt and Magnific, formerly Freepik. Head to head: Higgsfield vs OpenArt and Higgsfield vs Magnific. Full profile: Higgsfield, every Higgsfield plan on Higgsfield pricing, and Artlist on its own site.
