Seedance for AI UGC ads
Seedance makes creator-style clips with synced dialogue, and its face filter decides whether a UGC ad gets made at all. In 10 of 35 public user reviews checked 28 September 2026, the face filter rejects ordinary photos, AI faces and even cartoon faces.
CapCut’s own launch post (10 April 2026) said uploads showing real faces were blocked at first.
ByteDance’s Seedance 2.5 prompt guide (last updated 28 September 2026) gives every uploaded file a job in the prompt. For a UGC clip, four inputs matter.
| Input | What the guide says it does | Documented limit |
|---|---|---|
| Face image | “Subject reference”: a person’s “appearance identity” | Up to 30 images in all; 1 to 8 subjects work best |
| Product image | Subject reference for an object, named as “Image 2” | Shares the 30-image limit |
| Audio | “Audio reference” for “music, dialogue, voice, tone, or timbre” | Up to 10 clips, 30 seconds in total |
| Text prompt | Binds each file by upload order and sets the timeline | Seedance 2.5 clips up to 30 seconds; Seedance 2.0 in CapCut launched at 15 |

Can you make UGC ads with Seedance?
Yes, for talking clips, as long as the face gets through. Users credit Seedance with acting and motion closer to film than rival models (4 of 35 sources: Curious Refuge, r/seedance). They also credit it with following detailed prompts and many references while keeping a character consistent through a take (3 of 35: r/seedance, YouTube).
Seedance 2.5’s 30-second takes mean fewer retakes (2 of 35: YouTube, Curious Refuge). Long takes and extensions lose coherence, and on-screen text and spelling go wrong (5 of 35 for the two together: Curious Refuge, r/seedance).
Where to run it (Dreamina, Lumina, CapCut or a reseller) is on the Seedance profile. Whether a plan allows paid ads is on rights by plan. Clip cost and the free plan are on Seedance pricing.
Why Seedance rejects your face
The filter is one of the most reported UGC problems in the review file. Only credits running out faster than plan cards suggest are reported more (11 of 35).
Users describe it rejecting “a random person’s face”, their own uploads and AI-made faces (10 of 35 sources: r/seedance, r/seedance). Five of 35 report accounts banned or locked for policy flags with no recourse (r/seedance). Dreamina’s Trustpilot page holds 24 reviews and a TrustScore of 1.7 on 2 October 2026.
Passing the filter is not the same as having the right to use a face. Dreamina’s terms (22 January 2026, s.6) bar using the Services in a way that “violates or infringes on any third party’s rights of publicity, privacy”.
BytePlus’s GenAI Acceptable Use Policy, which covers Lumina, bars use “to depict a person (living or dead)’s voice or likeness without appropriate consent or rights”.
So the face in a Seedance UGC ad belongs to a person who signed a release for this use, or to nobody. The review file records no workaround for the filter among its 35 sources. The consent rule binds whatever does pass.
Seedance UGC prompts
ByteDance’s guide gives a “One-Sentence Summary” formula: “Subject + Location + Event + Genre/Style + Camera movement”. The detail follows as a timeline. Seedance 2.5 takes integer-second timestamps, while Seedance 2.0 “only responds to shot numbers”, so a 2.0 prompt writes “Shot 1”, “Shot 2”.
Three rules from the guide shape every template below:
- Number files by upload order and bind each in the text (“Image 1 depicts the protagonist”). The guide warns against putting a name only inside the image.
- Use positive descriptions, with “no subtitles” and “no BGM” as the supported negatives.
- Write dialogue as “Character’s line (emotion): content”. The guide shows repeated words and per-word tone notes triggering subtitles.
The templates are written for this page. Each fits one Seedance 2.5 generation of up to 30 seconds; on 2.0 in CapCut, keep to 15.
Talking-head clip
Template. Assets: Image 1 is the presenter, a [age, look] woman. Audio 1 is her voice.
Summary: the woman from Image 1 talks to camera in her [kitchen], handheld selfie style.
0-4s: Medium close-up, she picks up her phone and looks into the lens.
4-12s: Presenter's line (relaxed): [one or two sentences about the problem].
12-20s: Presenter's line (warm): [what the product does, a claim you can support].
Keep her face, clothing and lighting consistent. Natural room sound. No subtitles. No BGM.
Product-in-hand clip
Template. Assets: Image 1 is the presenter. Image 2 is [product], front label visible.
Summary: the man from Image 1 holds the product from Image 2 on a [bathroom shelf], phone footage.
0-5s: Close-up, he lifts the product from Image 2 into frame, label facing the camera.
5-15s: Presenter's line (casual): [how he uses it].
15-20s: Extreme close-up on the product from Image 2 in his hand.
The product's shape, colour and label text match Image 2 exactly. No subtitles. No BGM.
Label text counts among the on-screen text those 5 sources report going wrong. Check the label in every frame before the clip goes into an ad.
Unboxing clip
Template. Assets: Image 1 is the presenter. Image 2 is the [product] box. Image 3 is the product.
Summary: the woman from Image 1 unboxes Image 2 at a desk, top-down then face-on, UGC style.
0-6s: Top-down, her hands open the box from Image 2.
6-12s: She lifts out the product from Image 3 and turns it in the light.
12-18s: Face-on, presenter's line (surprised): [first reaction, one sentence].
Paper rustle and room sound only. No subtitles. No BGM.
Lip sync and the script
ByteDance’s guide maps a voice to a face in the prompt: “Image 1 depicts the protagonist John and uses the voice timbre from Audio 1”. It recommends subject audio of 5 to 10 seconds; longer inputs “may reduce stability”. The script itself goes in the prompt as the character’s line.
Two of 35 sources report dialogue and sound effects in sync with the picture (r/seedance, YouTube). One creator (YouTube) found a consistent voice across generations hard to control, since the model casts a voice from the reference.
A creator-style ad or a fake review?
A creator-style ad shows a presenter talking about a product. A fake review presents that presenter as a real customer with a real experience.
BytePlus’s policy bars “passing off or representing AI generated content as human-generated” and “false advertising”, and the FTC’s rule on fake reviews binds the advertiser (AI UGC legal rules). A line such as “I’ve used this for three months” spoken by a face that belongs to nobody describes an experience nobody had.
Questions buyers ask about Seedance for UGC
Does Seedance add a watermark?
Free Dreamina downloads carry the Dreamina watermark (Dreamina’s terms, 22 January 2026). Four of 35 users, all on Dreamina’s Trustpilot page, report paid plans still stamping an AI mark.
Can Seedance lip-sync a script?
Yes. Write the line into the prompt and map a voice from an audio reference, as ByteDance’s guide shows.
How long can a Seedance UGC clip be?
Up to 30 seconds per Seedance 2.5 generation, per ByteDance’s guide. Seedance 2.0 in CapCut launched with 15-second clips.
