What GetResponse costs at each list size

Your contact count sets the price. Starter costs more than four times as much at 10,000 contacts as at 1,000.

At the sizes the table skips, Starter costs $54 a month at 5,000 contacts, $174 at 25,000 and $539 at 100,000 (pricing page).

Those steps are wide. A list of 2,501 contacts pays the 5,000 price, so one extra contact takes Starter from $29 to $54. At the low end, 1,000 contacts is the smallest size sold, so a 500-contact list pays the full 1,000 price.

The plans spread apart as the list grows. At 50,000 contacts Marketer costs $359 and Creator $414 a month.

Is there a GetResponse free plan?

Not on the pricing page, which sells a 14-day trial with no card. A capped free account stays open after it.

The help centre sets out what that free account keeps. You can send newsletters, manage contacts and lists, and keep one landing page and one signup form published.

The cap is 500 contacts, inactive ones included. New contacts past it wait in a queue and are removed after 32 days unless you upgrade.

Most of the platform switches off. Scheduling, templates, the AI subject line and message generators, and automation workflows stop working, and API keys are locked. So the free account suits a hobby newsletter under 500 readers, sent by hand.

What pushes your bill to the next tier

GetResponse counts more than the people you can email. The terms count contacts per list, so one address on two lists counts twice. The monthly total also includes unsubscribed, deleted, rejected, unconfirmed and inactive contacts.

When signups through a form or landing page carry you past your tier, a list extension fee applies. The help article defines it as the difference between your plan and the one that fits your list.

Its own example uses Marketer: an account on the 5,000-contact price of $95 that grows to 10,000 pays an extra $19 a month. The fee repeats every month while your list stays above the tier.

Yearly plans get no shelter. The article says the fee “is applied every month, even if you’ve signed up for an annual subscription plan.” Merge duplicate lists before you near a tier edge: one address on two lists counts twice.

Which plan has unlimited AI writing

Marketer is the first plan with unlimited AI. On Starter the AI email generator, the AI subject line generator and the landing page AI creator each stop at 3 uses (plan comparison).

Moving from Starter to Marketer costs $40 a month at 1,000 or 2,500 contacts. The gap is $35 at 10,000 and $60 at 50,000. Each gap is Marketer minus Starter at the same list size.

That money also buys unlimited automation workflows and abandoned cart emails, which Starter holds to one workflow.

Creator adds an AI website builder. AI product recommendations sit on Enterprise only. The AI features guide compares what each email tool’s AI does.

Users, SMS and a dedicated IP

Seats come inside the plan, with no per-user price. Starter includes 3 users, Marketer and Creator 5 each, and Enterprise unlimited (pricing page).

The other add-ons buyers look for are Enterprise features. SMS marketing with 5,000 free messages, a dedicated IP address and transactional emails all sit there. Enterprise has a custom price after a demo, and the page prices none of these on their own.

Yearly billing and changing plans

Yearly billing cuts every public plan by 18%. Starter falls to $15.58 a month billed yearly and Marketer to $48.38 a month billed yearly at 1,000 contacts, checked (pricing page).

You pay the full year in advance. The billing FAQ says a downgrade, or a switch from yearly to monthly, goes through the Customer Success team on live chat. A 24-month term exists on Enterprise only.

That matters before you prepay. On the GetResponse profile, 5 of 24 public reviews describe billing disputes after cancelling, some over multi-year prepayment.
