What the MailerLite free plan allows

Free holds 250 active subscribers and 2,500 emails a month. It includes 2 seats, 1 website, 1 landing page, 3 active forms and 3 active automations of 5 steps each. Every email carries the MailerLite logo, and support is the knowledge base alone.

On 16 June 2026 the subscriber limit fell from 500 to 250. The monthly send allowance fell from 12,000 to 2,500 emails (Free plan update FAQ). Seats rose from 1 to 2.

Pass 250 active subscribers and MailerLite pauses sending and new sign-ups until you upgrade or trim the list.

For AI, Free gets the subject line generator marked “Limited” and one run of the AI landing page builder. The writing assistant is missing.

Comfort and Power come with a 14-day trial and no card, according to the pricing page.

What moves you up a tier

MailerLite bills active subscribers. Unsubscribed and bounced addresses do not count.

An address active at any point in a billing cycle counts for that whole cycle, even if you delete it the next day.

How do you count subscribers?

Counting Billing is based on the number of active subscribers in your account. Subscribers who have unsubscribed or bounced don’t count. To keep things fair, we use a cumulative count within each billing cycle: this means any address that was active at any point during the cycle counts toward your limit, even if it’s deleted later.

Paid accounts When the number of active subscribers exceeds the current subscriber limit, the subscriber limit will automatically increase and your credit card will be charged for the next pricing tier.

Free accounts When the number of active subscribers exceeds the 250 active subscriber limit, sendings will be locked (campaigns + automation).

MailerLite’s pricing FAQ on how subscribers are counted and what happens past the limit. MailerLite, Pricing FAQ: how subscribers are counted,

The count resets on your billing anniversary. So a list clean-up lowers next cycle’s bill, never the current one.

Cross a tier on a paid plan and the limit rises by itself, with the card charged for the next tier. The pricing FAQ says you get a warning as you near it.

Moving down works the other way. A downgrade takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle (pricing page).

Comfort or Power: the send cap decides

Comfort allows 10 times the top of your subscriber tier in emails a month (pricing FAQ). At the 2,500 tier that is 25,000 emails, or 10 sends to every subscriber. Comfort’s $33 for 25,000 emails comes to $1.32 per 1,000 emails sent at the cap.

A weekly newsletter uses 4 or 5 of those. Add a welcome series and a few promotions and you still fit. Daily senders do not: they hit the cap and must upgrade or wait for the next cycle.

Power sends without a cap under a fair use policy, per the plan table. It also adds unlimited seats (Comfort has 3), several triggers per automation and 24/7 live chat. Comfort’s support is email.

How much yearly billing saves

Yearly billing takes 10 per cent off Comfort and Power (pricing page). Comfort falls to $10.80 a month billed yearly at 500 subscribers, and Power to $22.50 a month billed yearly.

Switching from monthly to yearly starts at checkout (pricing page). Going back to monthly waits until the yearly plan ends, so a year paid up front stays paid (pricing page).

Nonprofits get 30 per cent off paid plans (pricing FAQ). You declare the status when your account goes through approval and send proof, such as a tax exemption certificate, to support.

MailerLite add-ons

The dedicated IP is the one add-on the pricing page names, and it sits on Enterprise with no price. A dedicated IP means your mail leaves from an address no other sender shares, so its reputation is yours alone.

The pricing page lists no SMS add-on and no paid seat packs. Seats come with the plan: 2 on Free, 3 on Comfort, unlimited on Power.

Transactional email, such as receipts and password resets, runs on MailerSend, a separate product with its own pricing.

Which MailerLite plan has the AI features

Comfort has them. The AI writing assistant, the full subject line generator, smart sending and unlimited AI landing pages all start there.

Power adds no AI writing feature on the plan table, but it gets the most writing-assistant credits, where Comfort has “a limited amount” (help article). So the cheapest way to get the AI at 10,000 subscribers is Comfort, at $89 a month.

One clause comes with it. Terms clause 17.3 grants MailerLite “a license to use your Inputs and Outputs to improve AI models”.

MailerLite against other email tools on price

Comfort is the cheapest paid plan with a published price at 500 subscribers; Kit, Brevo and beehiiv are free there. From 2,500 up, GetResponse Starter and Brevo both cost less. Brevo prices by emails sent; its figures here assume about 4 sends per contact a month.

Kit vs MailerLite sets MailerLite against a Free plan of 10,000 subscribers. Mailchimp vs MailerLite adds a rival that counts unsubscribed contacts. The AI email marketing hub maps the whole section, and GetResponse pricing gives its own steps.
