What one Hailuo clip costs

The plan figures divide each list price by the video count its own FAQ states, so they price the models those counts describe. Those counts name Hailuo 01 and 02 clips, and H3 launched on 31 July 2026 (MiniMax).

For H3, the subscribe page lists seconds a month at 768P: about 143 on Standard, 643 on Pro, 1,500 on Master and 3,857 on Max. Its own per-second labels do not divide out of the list prices, so the H3 rows divide each price by those seconds.

Ultra and Max publish no older-model video count, only credits plus unlimited older models, so the table leaves them out. Max lists about 3,857 H3 seconds a month at $199.99 a month.

A 10-second H3 clip on the API costs $0.80 at 768p and $1.30 at 2K (MiniMax pricing). Standard’s FAQ counts about 20 ten-second clips of the older models for 1,000 credits: $0.75 each at list price.

Hailuo plan or the MiniMax API?

For H3 at 768p, the API’s $0.48 a 6-second clip costs less than Standard and Pro at list price, if every plan credit is used. Master costs less. At the offer prices, every plan costs less than the API. The MiniMax API terms do not say whether its output can run in paid ads (rights data).

Creators put H3 well under Seedance and Veo per clip (4 of 37 sources: Curious Refuge, YouTube). They cite about 13 cents a second at 2K in the app, a resolution the subscribe page gives no seconds for.

The plans carry the rights the subscriber terms grant: you “retain any and all intellectual property rights to such content, including the right to use it for commercial purposes” (Subscription Service Terms). The grant covers only content generated and downloaded while on a paid plan.

Those terms prevail over the Terms of Service, whose Content Standards bar advertising content (s.1.2). The download notice says you “must” label AI-generated content when you publish it.

Volume decides the rest. The plan FAQ says Standard runs one task at a time and Pro runs two in parallel (subscribe page). The subscriber terms say paid users “may generate up to two videos simultaneously”. On Standard, by the FAQ, each clip waits for the one before it to finish.

Is Hailuo AI free?

Free use exists, and its output stays out of ads. The Terms of Service’s Content Standards bar advertising content (Terms of Service, 19 August 2026). The subscriber terms grant commercial rights only for content generated and downloaded on a paid plan (Subscription Service Terms). The rights data marks free output barred from paid ads, organic social and client work.

Users report the free allowance shrinking: no daily free credits, removed top-ups and bonus credits that never arrive (5 of 37 sources: Reddit, Reddit). The subscribe page states no free credit figure.

Costs the plan card leaves out

• Offer prices revert: the plan FAQ says Standard’s offer returns to $14.99 a month (subscribe page). Pro’s offer is $24.99 against $54.99 a month, as of 2 October 2026.
• Bought credits expire after one year by the FAQ, and without a subscription they leave the watermark on (subscribe page). The subscriber terms give a longer window, to 31 December of the second calendar year after buying.
• Ultra adds unlimited Hailuo 01 generations and Max unlimited 01 and 02. The page lists no H3 allowance for either.
• The FAQ’s clip counts describe older models; H3 draws on the seconds-a-month figure.

Hailuo price and billing reports on Reddit and Trustpilot

The 37 public reviews in our sample, 18 of them Reddit threads, date from 19 November 2025 to 26 September 2026. Beyond the shrinking free allowance:

• Generations fail after rendering during “High Demand” spells (5 of 37 sources, 3 on Reddit: r/HailuoAiOfficial, r/HailuoAiOfficial).

Billing complaints sit on Trustpilot: charges after cancelling, no billing page to change a card and stalled refunds (8 of 37 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot).
