Which costs less per clip?

H3 on MiniMax’s API, at list price per second: six seconds cost $0.48 against $0.76 for Kling 3.0 with audio at 720p (MiniMax pricing, Kling API pricing).

The app routes price differently. Hailuo Standard lists $14.99 a month for 1,000 credits. Its FAQ counts those as about 40 six-second 768P videos, so a clip costs $0.37 if every credit is used, on (subscribe page). Those counts describe Hailuo 01 and 02 videos. The page prints no credit rate for an H3 clip in the app.

Kling’s app sells credits at 66 to the dollar, and 720p with audio uses 9 a second (Credits Policy, 3.0 guide). Membership prices load only in a browser, so they are Unverified.

Can you run the clips in paid ads?

Not legal advice This section quotes Hailuo’s and Kling’s terms with their dates and reads them as an ad buyer would. Ask a lawyer before you rely on any reading here.

On a paid plan, both allow it with conditions. Neither free plan does.

Hailuo’s subscribe page says content made and downloaded on a paid plan “can be used commercially, subject to our Terms of Service”. The Subscription Service Terms (14 July 2025) say you “retain any and all intellectual property rights to such content, including the right to use it for commercial purposes”.

The two Hailuo documents pull apart. The Terms of Service (19 August 2026) bar any content that would “Involve commercial activities or sales, such as contests, sweepstakes, and other sales promotions, barter, or advertising”.

Subscription terms 1.2 settle a clash: “the terms of this Agreement shall prevail”. So a subscriber’s commercial grant stands over the advertising line, which the rights matrix records as allowed with conditions.

Free Hailuo output cannot run in ads: the commercial grant covers content generated and downloaded on a paid plan, and the Content Standards bar advertising.

The subscribe page also carries a download notice calling watermark-free files “for personal learning and collection purposes only”. The Terms of Service never use that phrase, and the page does not say which accounts see it.

Kling’s paid terms (21 April 2026) say a member’s commercial use “is not restricted” (3.1.2), except for competing products. Non-members need “our written permission” for any commercial use (terms 4.6).

Paid terms 7.1 extend 3.1(d) to members: no using the Services “to advertise or perform any commercial solicitation without our written consent”. The terms do not say whether 3.1.2 overrides it. The rights matrix holds both rows.

H3’s weights are on Hugging Face under a community licence dated 2 August 2026. It excludes “the European Union, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea and the United States of America”, and section IV.4 bars using the works “or any of their Outputs or results outside the Applicable Territory” (licence).

What has to appear on the finished ad?

On Hailuo, any AI label or watermark Hailuo applies. The Terms of Service say “You must not remove, obscure, alter, or disable any watermark, metadata, label, or other notice applied by the Company to identify content as AI-generated”. Free downloads “will include a watermark” (subscription terms).

On Kling, a non-member labels every clip “with the brand and logo involved”, or states it is generated by “Kling AI” (terms 4.5). Members may remove “brand watermarks” (paid terms 7.2). How to label AI in ads on each platform: AI ad disclosure rules.

Kling’s own advertising page reads “Free tier available (Memberships are watermark-free)”, and its FAQ says free videos “can be used for commercial purposes”. Its Credits Policy lists watermark removal among “premium-only functions” (FAQ 8), and terms 4.5 and 4.6 apply to non-members. A free Kling clip carries the brand and needs written permission before it runs in an ad.

Which handles more variants at once?

Hailuo’s plan FAQ says Standard runs one task at a time and Pro and higher run two (subscribe page). The Subscription Service Terms say paid users generate up to two videos at once. On the FAQ’s figure, ten variants on Standard queue one behind the other.

Kling publishes no parallel-task figure for its memberships. Its Credits Policy lists fast track among member-only functions. Users describe paid credits sitting behind a busy queue with waits of up to an hour (5 of 37 sources: Reddit, Trustpilot).
