Claude’s $200 plan is now Ultra, with no 5-hour cap once verified

Max 5x is now simply Max and Max 20x becomes Ultra, whose verified accounts lose the five-hour limit while the weekly allowance stays.

Anthropic renamed its two top Claude plans on 30 October 2026. The $100 plan loses its 5x suffix and is now simply Max, while the $200 plan, once Max 20x, is now Ultra. Prices stay the same and subscribers move over automatically, The New Stack reports. On Ultra, verified accounts no longer hit the rolling five-hour limit, a cap that could stop a long Claude Code job halfway and leave it waiting for the clock. Anthropic checks each account first, from its account and payment history, to stop fraud and resale, so some newer Ultra subscribers keep the cap until that check clears, Techstrong.ai adds.

The weekly limit stays. Anthropic’s pricing page now sets Max at five times Pro’s usage every five hours and every week, and Ultra at ten times Pro’s weekly usage. Both include Fable, Anthropic’s top model, for up to half the weekly limit, plus a monthly credit for its developer platform: $100 on Max and $200 on Ultra. Chats on the web or phone and Claude Code sessions draw on the same allowance.

Our 30 October price check still recorded a single Max card, “From $100”, sold as five or 20 times Pro’s usage per five-hour session. Our sheet now carries the two plans as Anthropic shows them today.

So Ultra is now a weekly plan: twice Max’s weekly usage for twice Max’s price, with no five-hour pause once the account is verified.
