Reddit opens Max AI campaigns to all as its shares drop 29%
Reddit’s ad sales grew 54 per cent and its automated campaigns reached every advertiser, but a weak outlook sank the stock.
Advertising earned Reddit $847 million in the third quarter of 2026, up 54 per cent on a year earlier, it told shareholders on 29 October. In the same quarter it opened Reddit Max to every advertiser, PPC Land reports. Reddit Max hands the campaign to Reddit’s software. The advertiser supplies the creatives, and the system decides who sees them, which one runs and what to bid. Advertisers can now run it through Reddit’s ad API or Smartly, a third-party ad platform. In the beta that began in January, Reddit said split trials cut cost per action by 17 per cent.
Investors looked past the record. Reddit’s shares closed down 29.22 per cent on 30 October, the worst day since its 2024 listing, after it forecast fourth-quarter sales of $1 billion to $1.03 billion, short of the $1.05 billion analysts expected, CNBC reports. Chief executive Steve Huffman told CNBC that referrals from Google fell “meaningfully” because of AI, and the shareholder letter warns daily visitors could drop by a low double-digit percentage this quarter. Reddit plans to test requiring a log-in to read the site, starting in select markets outside the US this quarter.
Of the 85 tools in our database, Omneky is the one whose listing names Reddit as a launch channel. Its Lite plan costs $29 a month for 200 credits, and its FAQ prices 1,000 credits at about 200 image ads, our 30 October check records.
Max picks among the creatives an advertiser supplies, and at Omneky’s rate Lite’s monthly credits cover about 40 image ads to feed it.
