ChatGPT ads get a wider desktop card and open multi-image ads
OpenAI told advertisers its standard ad now fills more of the chat on desktop, and every advertiser can now run ads with several images.
OpenAI’s weekly email to ChatGPT advertisers on 30 October 2026 brought a bigger standard ad. On a desktop screen the standard ad card now stretches further across the chat, and existing campaigns and creative fill it without any set-up, Search Engine Roundtable reports. That makes desktop previews look different from last week’s, as Adriaan Dekker points out.
Shopify stores gain reach too: OpenAI’s Shopify integration now works in more countries. The same email opened multi-image ads, which show several pictures in one placement, to every advertiser as an open beta. It also restated two older figures: ChatGPT ads run in 89 countries, for more than 100,000 advertisers.
The wider card asks for no new work, but the multi-image format does: an advertiser needs several matching images for each ad. Artlist’s AI Starter plan, at $19.99 a month or $11.99 billed yearly, covers up to 1,650 AI images with a commercial licence, our 30 October check records, from about 1.2 cents an image at the monthly price.
At that rate the extra pictures a multi-image ChatGPT ad needs add only cents per ad, so the real work in the format is picking images that read as one set.
