Foreplay alternatives

Verdict on Foreplay alternatives

Foreplay alternatives split by job, with Meta’s Ad Library and TikTok’s Creative Center free underneath. For five people on monthly billing, Foreplay Basic plus four users costs $139 and Atria Core $159 a month (checked ).

Foreplay’s terms (section 7) let it train machine-learning models within its services on your content and usage data.

Why buyers look for a Foreplay alternative

Not legal advice This page quotes each vendor’s terms and says what they mean for a buyer. It is not legal advice; ask a lawyer before you rely on a clause.

Price leads. Eight of 37 user reviews say Foreplay feels steep next to simpler ad savers, especially for small or new accounts (G2, G2). Basic costs $59 a month for one user, and Spyder competitor tracking and Lens analytics start on Workflow at $175 a month (pricing page).

Discovery is the second complaint. Five of 37 say it fills with low-quality or spammy ads and offers no way to hide an advertiser. Five say filters do not always stack (G2, G2).

Lens is the third limit. It connects Meta and TikTok ad accounts only, one brand on Workflow and ten on Agency.

Foreplay’s own pricing page disagrees on its size: “over 100M” ads in its menu, “200,000,000+” in its plan table.

A creator pairs Foreplay boards and competitor ads with an AI workflow built in Growthub Video: 10x Creative Ops With Foreplay and AI, Antonio Romero on YouTube, .

Workflow adds MCP and API access, so boards and competitor ads can feed an AI assistant, as the creator above shows.

What each tool costs for one user and for a team of five

Seats change the order. For one user, Minea Starter and PiPiAds Basic cost less than Foreplay Basic. For five at list price, Foreplay Basic with four extra users costs least among plans that publish a seat price.

Atria’s monthly price is worked from its card: the yearly price plus the stated yearly saving over twelve months. Motion’s Starter covers up to 50k dollars of monthly ad spend; Superads’ Professional covers 100k and adds $100 a month for each extra 100k (Superads pricing).

Which ad libraries each tool reads

Atria: library, own-account reports and AI drafts for five seats

Atria pairs an ad library with reporting on your own accounts and an AI strategist that drafts concepts, scripts and copy. Core at $159 a month on monthly billing includes 5 seats and 5 ad accounts. It analyses up to 500k dollars of spend a month (pricing page).

Foreplay’s five-user plan, Workflow at $175 a month, reports on one brand through Lens. Atria Core reports on five ad accounts for less.

Users rate the research side: 3 of 13 Atria reviews call the competitor library and brand pages its strength (r/FacebookAds, G2). Five of 13 report charges after cancelling or inside the trial (Trustpilot, Trustpilot).

Best for
Teams that want competitor research, their own creative reporting and AI concept and copy drafts in one tool, with MCP access for AI assistants.
Not for
Buyers who need written ownership of AI outputs, or small accounts that only need a swipe file (Core is $159 a month on monthly billing).

Motion: own-account analytics priced by ad spend

Motion against Foreplay comes down to pricing and job. Motion charges by ad spend to analyse your own creatives; Foreplay charges a flat price to collect other brands’ ads. Motion Starter costs $750 a month up to 50k dollars of monthly spend, with unlimited seats and ad accounts (pricing page).

It reports on Meta, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn ads, against Lens’s Meta and TikTok. Reviewers praise reports where each creative sits beside its numbers, 30 of 104 (G2, G2).

Thirteen of 104 say Meta gets the full feature set while TikTok and LinkedIn get less (G2, G2). Seven of 104 find the spend-based price hard to justify on small accounts (G2, Trustpilot).

Best for
Brands and agencies spending 25k dollars or more a month on Meta who want every ad AI-tagged and ranked, plus weekly reports and iteration ideas.
Not for
Accounts spending a few thousand a month: the entry plan is $750 a month. Not the calendar app of the same name (usemotion.com).

PiPiAds: TikTok ads first, priced in credits

PiPiAds searches TikTok ads and the stores behind them, with Facebook ad data beside them. Basic costs $49 a month per 30 days for 30,000 credits, 2 ad trackers and 1 user (pricing page).

Credits set the real limit. A search costs 1 credit per ad listed and opening an ad’s details 20, so Basic covers about 1,500 detail views a month. Unused credits do not roll over, and the FAQ says “We do not issue refunds”.

Best for
Dropshippers and TikTok-first sellers who want to search and track TikTok ads and the stores behind them, from $49 for 30 days.
Not for
Heavy researchers on Basic: 30,000 credits cover about 1,500 ad detail views a month at 20 credits each, and unused credits expire monthly.

Minea: Facebook ad and shop research for dropshippers

Minea lists Meta ads beside product and shop listings, with a brand tracker and daily niche lists. Starter costs $49 a month with 10 AI ad analyses a month (pricing page). The page marks Snapchat, Pinterest and TikTok ads “coming soon”, while its FAQ says it analyses “Facebook ads, Pinterest ads, Tiktok ads”, so whether TikTok and Pinterest are live is unclear.

Twenty-two of 71 Minea reviews say dropshippers use it to find products already selling and the ads behind them (Trustpilot, Trustpilot). Six of 71 say products surface after they peak (r/dropshipping, r/dropship).

Its terms are in French only, and cancelling mid-period refunds neither the remaining days nor unused credits (CGV 14).

Best for
Dropshippers and small e-commerce sellers hunting products and the ads that sell them, mostly on Meta.
Not for
Brand-side creative strategy, or TikTok-first research: the plan cards list Meta ads, and Minea’s pages disagree on whether TikTok ads are live.

Superads: own-account reports up to 100k dollars of spend

Superads reports on your own Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn ads, with AI tagging. Each ad gets a score built from your own historical data. Professional costs $150 a month up to 100k dollars of monthly spend, with no annual contract (pricing page).

That is a fifth of Motion’s entry price, for twice Motion Starter’s spend ceiling. It makes no ads (“You do the creating”, its homepage says).

The only terms Superads links are website terms of Konsus, Inc., the company behind Superside. No product subscription agreement appears on the site.

Best for
Teams wanting creative reports and a hook, hold, click and conversion score per ad, from $150 a month with no annual contract.
Not for
Teams that want ads made for them: Superads reports on, tags, scores and tracks ads, and makes none (You do the creating, homepage).

AdSpy: one Facebook and Instagram database at one price

AdSpy searches Facebook and Instagram ads by text, landing page URL, comment keywords and affiliate offer ID. One plan costs $149 a month for “virtually unlimited usage” (homepage).

The homepage calls that price “an introductory offer” with no end date. There is no free tier or trial, and the page lists no TikTok ads.

Best for
Affiliate marketers and media buyers researching Facebook and Instagram ads by text, landing page, comment keywords or affiliate offer ID.
Not for
TikTok, YouTube or Google research, own-account analytics, or anyone wanting a free tier or trial.

Do you need a paid tool? What the free ad libraries give you

Both big platforms publish their ads for free. Meta’s Ad Library is a public search of ads running across Meta’s apps. TikTok’s Creative Center has a Top Ads section to “Analyze successful campaigns”, with engagement, CTR and budget levels per ad.

What the paid tools add is keeping and watching. The top finding in Foreplay’s reviews, 14 of 37, is boards that outlive the original ad and are easy to share (G2, G2). Next, 13 of 37 name weekly competitor tracking in one place.

What the terms take from you

Foreplay’s terms let it use content and usage data to “develop, train, evaluate, and improve machine-learning models and AI-powered features within the Services” (section 7).

Its Chrome extension collects the domains and URLs you view once you consent (section 4). You keep your boards and briefs (section 9). The terms do not say whether saved ads count as your content and grant no right to reuse them.

Atria’s terms give no written ownership of AI outputs, used at your own risk, and license your logo and name for Atria’s marketing by default.

Motion licenses reports and AI outputs “solely for the Permitted Purpose”, defined as “internal use”, during the subscription (3.3 and 1.39). PiPiAds limits material found through it to “monitoring and learning purposes only” (3.2). The rights matrix row for Motion holds its clauses.

Left out, and why

MagicBrief is discontinued: it shut down on 31 July 2026, after Canva bought it.

Madgicx is a Meta campaign platform with automation and reporting, priced by declared ad spend; it is no swipe file.
