AI media buyer

By Alexandre S. Published Last checked

An AI media buyer is software that does the work of the person who buys your ads. It launches them and decides how much each one spends. It also pauses the ones that lose. Media buying means paying Meta, Google or TikTok to show your ads, then moving the money towards what sells.

Five tools describe that job on their own pages, and they split on one line: some recommend a change and wait, others make it. By default Creatify shows each pause, budget move and launch as an approval card, a request you accept before it runs.

Madgicx says you choose autonomous execution or review before launch. Meta and Google run the automation inside their own platforms.

Most run inside an ad account you own and pay for. Zeely also offers its own Meta partner account. Whichever you use, the goal, the budget and the loss stay with you.

Creatify logoCreatify: proposals by default, autonomy as a switch

Creatify launched AI Media Buyer on 18 June 2026. Its launch post says it can go from a brief to a live campaign in under 60 seconds. It also posts a 94 per cent win rate against other AI ad tools on an internal benchmark, with no method given.

The post’s FAQ says the agent acts on the optimisations it recommends instead of only flagging them, while you set guardrails and approve the direction.

The Performance Agent page is more specific. Pausing an ad, moving budget, changing a bid or launching a campaign shows up as an approval card, and nothing runs until you approve it. A scheduled routine, a saved check such as a daily brief, asks before acting unless you switch it to act alone.

Creatify’s Performance Agent page: every change is an approval card, budget raises move in steps and large raises are flagged. Creatify Performance Agent page, Your accounts, your call, captured

Budget raises go in steps. The agent page flags a raise over 30 per cent on Meta, 20 per cent on Google Ads or 50 per cent on TikTok for your explicit OK.

It lists Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Snapchat, Reddit and OpenAI Ads for analysis and changes, and AppLovin for read-only analysis. The pricing page names fewer: its Ad Launcher and Ad Agent rows read Meta, TikTok and AppLovin.

Will it change my campaigns on its own?

No. Pausing, budget and bid changes, targeting edits and launches are shown as approval cards, and nothing runs until you approve. A scheduled routine can be set to act on its own, but it asks before acting unless you change that.

Creatify’s FAQ answer on whether its agent changes campaigns on its own. Creatify, Creatify Performance Agent FAQ,

Ad Launcher and Ad Agent are ticked on every paid app plan, from Standard at $15 a month.

Ad Agent Automations start on Pro at $55 a month. The agent page says connecting an ad account is free on the Free plan and that the agent uses credits as it works. Creatify’s help article says an Ad Agent request costs credits that depend on what you ask for. The agent page calls it “Creatify Agent (Ad Agent in the app)”, so the Ad Agent row is this agent.

On cost, 15 of 61 user reports say credits run out faster than the pricing suggests. Retries, failed renders and agent runs all bill (Trustpilot, r/FacebookAds). None of the 61 sources covers AI Media Buyer itself, and few mention the ad launcher.

Madgicx logoMadgicx: you choose how much it does

Madgicx calls its AI Marketer an AI media buyer for Meta ads. It audits Facebook and Instagram campaigns and recommends changes.

For launches it says AI Marketer prepares the ads, audiences and other elements for your review, and that you can choose autonomous execution or review before launch. The page does not say which mode is the default. It does not name pausing or moving budget either.

AI Marketer

You choose how AI Marketer operates.

Choose autonomous execution or review prepared actions before launch.

The homepage says advertisers use Madgicx to launch ads and shift budget, and that its AI Marketer tells you what to do next. The pricing page names no plan for AI Marketer, and prices on it step with the ad spend you declare. The media buyers list has the steps.

Users report the bill differing from the price shown, through spend tiers, quarterly billing and automatic step-ups (10 of 72 sources: Trustpilot, Trustpilot). Rules, tracking and integrations that fail to run or need reconnecting come up in 7 of 72 (Trustpilot, Trustpilot). The Madgicx profile has the full count.

Meta Advantage+ and Google Performance Max: automation inside the platform

Meta’s sales campaign page says Advantage+ sales campaigns optimise audience, placements and budget automatically.

The strongest optimisation applies when a campaign uses Advantage+ audience, campaign budget, placements and destination. The page says businesses are “driving a 20% lower cost per result on average” with these campaigns and names no comparison group. The creative side, with 17 of 35 reports of enhancements switching themselves back on, is in our Advantage+ creative guide.

Performance Max is a Google campaign type that reaches YouTube, Display, Search, Discover, Gmail and Maps from one campaign. Google’s guide says Smart Bidding sets each bid, budget flows towards the best placements, and generative AI builds images and videos from your assets. Neither platform has an approval card. You set the inputs, and the platform acts.

Zeely logoZeely: launches Meta ads, charges on spend

Zeely’s homepage offers to automate ad launch for Meta and to set rules that automate ad performance. The help articles read describe no such rules, no pausing and no budget moves.

Its help centre says every campaign is configured and launched by you, and that nothing publishes without your approval. You choose the daily budget and Meta handles delivery (help article).

On Zeely’s Meta partner account, an active campaign has no edit, pause or stop button. Only Zeely’s Support can stop it, a request does not stop it at once, and stopping does not guarantee a refund of unused budget, which is reviewed individually (help article).

Its service fee article sets the fee at 12 per cent of ad spend, or 6 per cent with the Booster add-on. The budget itself goes straight to Meta.

Who carries the loss when an agent overspends

You do, on the five sets of terms read. Creatify’s and Madgicx’s terms do not mention an agent or automated actions in an ad account, and Creatify’s date from 23 September 2024, before AI Media Buyer launched. What the five say instead:

  • Creatify, clause 1: “you are responsible for any activity conducted on your account.” Clause 8.1 excludes loss of profits and revenue. Clause 8.2 caps its liability at the greater of $50 or what you paid in the previous six months.
  • Madgicx, clause 2.2: you are responsible for all activity under your account. Clause 13 makes no representation about the results of any campaign. Clause 14.2 caps liability at the fees paid in twelve months, and at $100 for free services.
  • Zeely, clause 4.15: no guarantee that a campaign reaches specific results. Clause 4.11 makes payments for advertising non-refundable in general. Clause 12.2 caps liability at the greater of the last month’s payments or $100. On its partner account, only Support can stop a live campaign.
  • Google LLC Advertising Program Terms, US edition, clause 1: you are solely responsible for ads, targeting decisions and destinations. That includes targets and ads built with its optional generation features. Clause 5: a cancelled ad generally stops serving within 8 business hours, and you owe the charges for ads already served.
  • Meta Self-Serve Ad Terms, English page: you alone are responsible for the order, ad content, targeting decisions and ad placements, and Meta does not guarantee the reach or performance of your ads.

The controls that exist are Creatify’s approval default, Madgicx’s review mode and Zeely’s launch step.

What you still set

The feature pages assign four jobs to a person.

  1. The goal. Google asks for the conversion actions you care about, with an optional ROAS or CPA target. ROAS is revenue earned per dollar spent. CPA is the cost of one sale. Creatify’s launch post has you state goals in plain language.
  2. The budget. Google takes a daily budget, Zeely a daily budget, Meta one campaign budget. Creatify flags raises past its thresholds.
  3. The creative brief. Google takes your text, images and videos. Creatify reads your brand assets and product catalogue.
  4. Account access. Creatify connects Meta, Google, TikTok and more. Madgicx’s terms, clause 8.2, make you warrant that you hold the rights to every ad account you link.

Set the budget cap and choose approval mode before the agent takes its first action.

Will AI replace media buyers?

Not on these documents: each tool leaves the goal, the budget and the account to a person. Creatify drafts changes for sign-off, and Meta and Google act inside limits you set. Madgicx offers an autonomous mode, and a Creatify routine can act alone once you switch it, so the review step is a setting you control.

For tools sorted by job, with prices that rise with ad spend, see AI tools for media buyers. Creatify’s other names, AdMax and Studio among them, are in what’s new in Creatify, and its plans are on the Creatify pricing page. The creative testing framework covers what to test once an agent drafts the variants.

Questions about AI media buyers

What is an AI media buyer?

It is software that launches ads, moves budget between them and pauses weak ones, as a human media buyer does. Creatify and Madgicx both use the name for their agents.

Can an AI media buyer spend money without my approval?

Creatify’s agent asks first by default and acts alone only on a routine you switch. Madgicx lets you choose autonomous execution. Meta and Google campaigns spend inside the budget you set.

Is there a free AI media buyer?

Creatify says you can start on its Free plan and connect an ad account at no cost, with credits used as the agent works. Madgicx offers a 7-day free trial.
