Amazon product video makers and shoppable video with AI
Amazon’s free Video Generator turns one ASIN into six 16:9 Sponsored Brands videos at no cost, licensed for Amazon only, while a studio clip costs from $490 at soona’s list prices (checked 6 October 2026).
Sponsored Brands video must be 16:9 and 6 to 45 seconds long, by Amazon’s spec page on 6 October 2026. A vertical 9:16 export made for TikTok or Reels fails it. A production company charges up to $5,000 per finished minute.
| Placement | Where it shows | Ratio and size | Length | Rule that trips AI video |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shoppable video (listing) | Main media block of the product page | .mov or .mp4, 1080p recommended, 5 GB | “Between 1 and 12 minutes” | Shows in the main block only if the product has fewer than six images |
| Sponsored Brands video | Search results and product pages | 16:9 only; 1280 x 720, 1920 x 1080 or 3840 x 2160 | 6 to 45 s, “20 secs or less highly recommended” | No black, colour or blurred bars |
| Sponsored Products video | Search | 16:9; 9:16 listed as “to be available in 2026” | 7 s and longer | Each video’s title must name a feature the video shows |
| Sponsored Display video | On and off Amazon | Per placement | 15 s at most | No flashing text or jarring sounds |
| Brand Stores video | The brand’s Store | Per placement | 5 minutes at most | Text must not cover the product |
| Streaming TV | Prime Video and other streaming apps | 16:9, 4 Mbps minimum | Per placement | “Third-party watermarks are prohibited” |
| Online video (DSP) | Sites and apps beyond Amazon | 16:9 or 9:16, 4 Mbps minimum | Per placement | Must not end abruptly |

What video does Amazon accept, and where does it show?
Of the Amazon placements whose ratio Amazon states, only online video on the DSP takes vertical 9:16 today. Amazon’s animation and video policy allows “16:9 or 9:16” for online video on the DSP. Streaming TV takes 16:9 only.
Sponsored Brands video asks for H.264 or H.265, a bit rate of 1 Mbps or more, and a file of 500 MB or less, by Amazon’s spec page (6 October 2026). The mute toggle sits in the lower right corner, so keep text out of it.
Sponsored Products video is newer and stricter about content. Amazon’s guide takes up to five product feature videos per ASIN and says feature videos “with feature titles that are not shown in the video will be rejected”. It wants the feature as the focal point, “not lifestyle or brand storytelling”.
Sponsored Products video plays without sound: the guide says audio is not permitted and is removed, so native audio from Veo or Kling is lost.
A listing video needs no ad account. Amazon’s seller guide (12 May 2025) asks for a Professional account and three months of selling history. It allows up to 4 videos per ASIN. The Professional plan costs $39.99 a month plus selling fees.
What is a shoppable video on Amazon?
A shoppable video on Amazon is a listing video that sits beside the product images, one tap from the buy box. Amazon defines it as “pre-recorded video content that informs, inspires, and help shoppers throughout their shopping journey”, called shoppable “because they appear prominently where customers make purchasing decisions”.
Amazon puts a figure on it in the seller guide. Product pages “with their first shoppable video added saw an average 24% increase in sales”, by Amazon internal data for January to June 2026. Amazon publishes no sample or method for that figure.
The same seller guide sets the length at “Between 1 and 12 minutes”, then says “Most successful videos are just 30 to 90 seconds long”. A 30-second AI clip meets the second line and falls under the first, so check the upload screen’s limit before cutting to length.
What does a shoppable product video cost from a studio, a freelancer or AI?
A Sponsored Brands video costs nothing on Amazon’s own Video Generator and a few dollars per clip on AI tools at list price. A studio charges from about $490 for one edited clip to $5,000 per finished minute. Studios and agencies publish their own ranges; none is a market survey.
| Route and source | Published price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Production company, Beverly Boy | $1,000 to $5,000 per finished minute | Crew, shoot and edit |
| Agency, Evolve Media | $1,000 to $3,500 per Sponsored Brands video | Production only; media budget extra |
| Freelancer, by the same agency | $600 to $2,500 | One-off production |
| Studio by the clip, soona | $490 for one edited clip | Worked below |
| Creatify Starter, avatar video | $3.90 per video | 30 seconds, if every credit is used |
| Google Veo via Google AI Pro | $0.40 per 4 to 8-second clip | Veo 3.1 Fast, if every credit is used |
| Amazon Video Generator | No fee | Six videos per request, Amazon placements only |

The soona figure adds up four list prices. The clip costs $93, a pro edit $199 and one text add-on $49.
A non-member also pays the $149 studio pass per booking. Models and styling cost extra.
AI prices are list prices for a render that works first time. 15 of 61 Creatify user sources say credits run out faster than the pricing suggests, retries included (Trustpilot, Reddit). 13 of 62 Google Veo sources say a usable clip takes several paid retries (Reddit, Reddit). Every plan side by side: AI tool prices.
What does Amazon’s free AI video generator make?
Amazon’s Video Generator turns one ASIN and a product image or video into six Sponsored Brands videos in up to 5 minutes, at no cost. Amazon’s guide says it creates “an unlimited number of videos at no additional cost”, with videos built to the Sponsored Brands spec. Up to 2 source videos can be added.
Availability reads two ways on Amazon’s own pages. The guide’s FAQ says the tool is “available in the U.S. marketplace” in English. The Sponsored Brands spec page footnote lists ten countries, including the UK, Germany, India and Japan.
The licence stops at Amazon’s edge. The Amazon Ads product terms (last updated 11 September 2026) allow the outputs “solely for your usage of Amazon products and services”. A Video Generator clip is not licensed for Meta or TikTok ads (rights row).
Which other AI generators fit Amazon video, by placement?
Google Veo and Kling fit listing feature videos, Creatify fits Sponsored Brands ads with a presenter, and Topview and Pippit fit bulk product-link videos; all five tools’ terms reach beyond Amazon.
Feature videos for the listing and Sponsored Products need one feature on screen. Google Veo makes clips of 4, 6 or 8 seconds, and Kling makes 3 to 15 seconds. A 30-second feature video means editing several clips together.
Kling’s terms of service (3.1(d) and 3.1(e)) ask for written consent to use the Services “to advertise”, and whether the paid terms lift that for members is unclear (rights row).
Sponsored Brands video with a presenter suits an avatar tool. Creatify turns a product URL into avatar and product ads. It costs $3.90 per video on Starter at $39 a month, if every credit is used (prices checked ). 15 of 61 Creatify user sources report many ad variations from one product link (Reddit, G2).
Product links turned into video in bulk suit Topview, from $18 a month, which runs Seedance, Kling and Veo models. Its terms require Topview’s prior written approval for ads for medical devices, medical services or pharmaceutical products. Pippit, from ByteDance, does the same job with prices that vary by region and watermarked free output.
Pippit’s stock materials may promote a product but may not endorse its quality, under the CapCut Materials License Agreement.
Export 16:9 for Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Products and Streaming TV. Kling’s terms require non-members to show the Kling brand or a “generated by Kling AI” notice. Amazon’s Streaming TV rules prohibit third-party watermarks, so Streaming TV takes Kling clips made on a membership only.

Which Amazon creative policies reject AI video?
No Amazon Ads policy page read on 6 October 2026 bans AI-made video as such. The rules that reject it cover quality, accuracy and AI people.
Quality comes first. Amazon’s policy 4.0 asks for “high production value” with “No blurry, pixelated, or distorted elements”. A warped label or a morphing hand fails that line.
Sponsored Products rejects a feature title the video does not show, and Amazon’s sponsored ads policies require an ad to reflect its landing page.
AI people in product images and A+ content now carry a tag; no Amazon page read on 6 October 2026 sets a video rule. Since Amazon’s notice of 23 July 2026, sellers add the metadata keyword contains-synthetic-performer to product images and A+ content showing photorealistic AI-generated people (eWeek, 24 July 2026). The rule follows New York’s General Business Law 396-b, in force since 9 June 2026.
Repeat breaches cost the account. Amazon “may suspend or terminate ad accounts for severe or repeated policy violations” (sponsored ads policies).
The product in an AI clip must match the product you ship. A clip made from your own product photo starts from the real item: see product photo to video.
Questions Amazon sellers ask about product video
Is there a free Amazon product video maker?
Yes. Amazon Ads’ Video Generator makes six Sponsored Brands videos per request from an ASIN, with unlimited requests at no cost, for use on Amazon only.
How much does a shoppable video cost?
From $490 for one edited studio clip at soona’s list prices to $5,000 per finished minute from a production company. AI tools cost a few dollars per clip before retries.
What are Amazon’s video ad specs?
Sponsored Brands video is 16:9 only, 6 to 45 seconds, 500 MB at most, in MP4 or MOV. Sponsored Display video stops at 15 seconds and Brand Stores video at 5 minutes.
Can I use Amazon’s AI videos on Facebook or TikTok?
No. Amazon’s product terms (11 September 2026) license Video Generator outputs solely for Amazon products and services.
Do AI-generated people on Amazon listings need a label?
Yes, for photorealistic AI people in product images and A+ content: the contains-synthetic-performer metadata keyword, required since Amazon’s notice of 23 July 2026. Amazon sets no video rule on its pages read on 6 October 2026.
