How to make money with an AI influencer

By Alexandre S. Published Last checked

Yes, an AI influencer can make money. It earns the way a human creator does: brands pay it to post, and followers buy through its links. Most of the money arrives once people follow the account, though two routes pay before that.

Aitana López is a made-up Spanish fitness model. Her creators told Euronews in 2023 that she earned about 3,000 euros in an average month (Euronews, 22 November 2023).

Five routes pay, each from a different audience size. Selling content needs no audience, and Higgsfield Earn pays from zero followers.

Tools such as Higgsfield bill from the first month, so start with the routes that pay before you have followers. To build the character first, see the AI influencer hub.

Brand deals: the route the big accounts live on

A brand deal is a brand paying your character to show its product in a post, a Reel or a story. It pays the most per post, and it needs the most: brands buy reach in a niche they sell to.

A creator sets out how an AI influencer lands brand deals, September 2026 Video: How to Create an AI Influencer That Actually Gets Brand Deals, Aftab Khan on YouTube, .

Euronews reported in November 2023 that Aitana earned just over 1,000 euros per advert. By the article’s December 2024 update she had more than 343,000 Instagram followers.

The rules on labelling paid posts apply to a made-up creator too. The US Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement Guides say the endorser “could be or appear to be an individual, group, or institution” (16 CFR 255.0(b)). A character presented as a person fits those words. So its sponsored post carries the same paid-partnership disclosure a human’s would.

TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program excludes “Ads, paid promotions, or sponsored content”, so a sponsored video earns you the brand’s fee and no view payment (TikTok Creator Academy).

Is an AI influencer legal? has each platform’s label rule and each tool’s terms on presenting a character as human.

AI influencer marketing shows the same deal from the brand’s side, which helps when you write your pitch.

An affiliate link is a tracked link to a product. When a follower buys through it, the seller pays you a share. You need no brand’s approval for each post. That suits an account of a few thousand followers in a niche where people buy, such as beauty or fitness kit.

AI tools suit an AI character’s links, since every post shows what a tool makes. Higgsfield’s programme pays “up to 25% commission for up to 12 months”, in cash, on each referred subscription (affiliate page, read 24 October 2026).

The programme allows organic sharing only: “Paid advertising, bidding on the Higgsfield brand name, and posting to coupon/cashback sites aren’t allowed.” The Higgsfield affiliate program guide works through what a referral earns.

Selling the content itself

You can skip the audience and sell what the character makes. A brand or agency pays for the photos or clips, then runs them in its own ads or on its own accounts. Higgsfield’s AI Influencer post names this buyer: “Marketers who need a spokesperson character” and “Agencies keeping separate personas for separate clients” (Higgsfield, 3 October 2026).

This is client work, priced per deliverable. Selling AI UGC ads covers pricing, the rights each plan gives you to resell output, and where clients come from.

Creator programmes: paid per video, some from zero followers

A creator programme pays for posting itself, usually per approved video or per thousand views. The entry rules differ more than the payouts.

Higgsfield Earn has no follower minimum.

The help centre says Earn is “open to creators of any size” with an active Instagram, YouTube or X account, and that “You can use a character you already have or create one in AI Influencer Studio” (help centre, modified 14 September 2026).

How do I join Higgsfield Earn?

Go to creators.higgsfield.ai.

1. Create an account and connect your social account. Instagram authorizes automatically. YouTube and Twitter (X) require manual review via a verification code placed in your channel description or profile.

2. Open the campaign dashboard. Campaigns are matched to creators based on audience, platform, and fit, so what’s available to you may differ from what others see, and new campaigns appear over time.

3. Accept a campaign. Each one specifies the content format, platform, required hashtags and mentions, and minimum video length.

4. Produce and submit your content.

5. Get paid. Payouts are processed automatically via Garna: if you don’t have a Garna account, click Claim Money when your payout is ready.

Each campaign pays “a guaranteed payout (a fixed amount after submission)”, plus a performance bonus worked out about a week later. The rates themselves are private: “Payout rates are confidential.” The Earn page sets two caps. A video earns at most $1,000 on its first day and $2,500 over its lifetime (Earn).

A creator posts an AI influencer video and shows how Higgsfield Earn tracks and pays it Video: I Created an AI Influencer and Got Paid (Higgsfield Earn Program Tutorial), AI Cash Tom on YouTube, .

Higgsfield’s trust page says it has distributed over $1,000,000 to more than 10,000 verified creators. Its approval rate is 90% for submissions that meet its eligibility and safety criteria. Access depends on your country.

Before you join, a few program rules worth knowing:

Availability is regional. Access to the program and to individual campaigns depends on your country, so what you see may differ from another creator.

Payout rates are confidential. Rates are set individually and aren’t for public discussion.

Communication is confidential. Correspondence with the team, including payout details and campaign discussions, is private and shouldn’t be shared publicly.

Appeals go through one form. If a submission is rejected, you can appeal only through the official appeal form, and each rejected submission is eligible for one appeal. Appeal decisions are final.

TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program sets a higher bar. You need to be 18 or over, in one of the eight countries TikTok lists, with “at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days”.

Each video must be “original, high-quality content over 1 minute long” with 1,000 For You views. Only personal accounts qualify. The rules name no AI condition: they refuse videos “copied from others” or with “minimal original input or edits”.

Instagram pays through its own tools: Subscriptions, Gifts, Badges, Bonuses, and a Creator Marketplace for brand deals (Instagram, read 24 October 2026). Subscriptions charge your most dedicated followers a monthly fee you set. Meta adds an “AI info” label to content its systems detect as AI-made, and may require you to label photorealistic video (Meta).

How to identify AI content on Meta products

Content with signals that we can identify indicating that it was created with AI will be labelled AI info.

People using Meta products may also be able, and in some cases required, to label their content.

When is a label required? Meta may require an AI label when content has photorealistic video or realistic-sounding audio. This requirement does not apply to images. There may be penalties for content shared without a label when it is required.

Meta’s help page says when Facebook, Instagram and Threads label AI content and when creators must label it. Meta, How to identify AI content on Meta products,

YouTube writes AI characters into its rules. Its monetisation policy allows “using AI to visualize a unique character and narrative you invented”.

YouTube refuses to pay for “AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production”, and for channels using “AI-generated personas to deliver information on sensitive topics” such as health or money (YouTube Help).

Not eligible. AI-generated content made with generic or unoriginal templates giving the impression of mass production

A finance-tips persona is out; a character with its own story is in.

Own products: the route brands’ own characters use

Selling your own product turns followers into buyers with no brand in the middle. The public examples come from big accounts.

Lu do Magalu is the character of Magazine Luiza, a Brazilian retailer. With the creator Bruna Tavares, she launched four matte liquid lipsticks and a gloss. Magalu sells them in its apps (Mercado e Consumo, 8 December 2023).

Noonoouri, a digital fashion character, signed the first record deal Warner Music Central Europe gave a digital character. She released the single “Dominoes” (PA via BreakingNews.ie, September 2023). For a small account, the version within reach is a digital product (presets, a guide, a print) sold from the bio link.

What it costs to run, against what it earns

The tools bill every month from the start. Income starts later, once the routes above open. So the number to watch is a year of tool costs against your first deals.

Monthly tool cost of an AI influencer, by setup
Setup What you get Price
One studio Higgsfield Starter: character builder, Soul ID, image and video models on one credit balance $15 a month
One studio, more credits Higgsfield Plus, 1,000 credits a month $49 a month
Image app plus video tool Nano Banana in the Gemini app on Google AI Pro, plus Kling for clips $19.99 a month plus Kling

Scroll sideways for all 3 columns

Kling also sells credits on their own, at $1 for 66, so the third row’s total depends on how many clips you make.

Each plan is a fixed monthly cost, whatever the account earns. Euronews’s figure for Aitana, just over 1,000 euros per advert, is for an account with hundreds of thousands of followers. An account with no following earns nothing from brands, so the plan bills for months before any deal.

Two costs hide in the plans. Credits expire: 6 of 52 user sources report subscription credits lapsing at the end of each period and add-on packs after 90 days (Trustpilot, YouTube).

Refunds also stop once any credit is used, under section 9.3 of the terms, and 9 of 52 user sources report a refused refund (Trustpilot). Start on the monthly plan until the account earns. Higgsfield pricing lists every plan.

Do most AI influencers make money?

No. The published figures sit with a handful of accounts, and most of those are estimates. Kapwing counted sponsored Instagram posts over the 12 months to May 2025 (Kapwing, 15 July 2025). Its top earner, Lu do Magalu, made 34 times the next account, Lil Miquela, at $73,920.

The entry rules tell the same story. TikTok’s Creator Rewards pays nothing below 10,000 followers, and brands buy reach. Higgsfield Earn is the exception, with a guaranteed payout per approved video, though its rates are private.

AI influencer earnings lists 12 published figures for six characters, with the outlet, the date and who produced each number.

Creators who run AI accounts also publish walk-throughs of these routes, with figures they report themselves.

A creator walks through the income routes of an AI influencer account, September 2026 Video: My AI Influencer Earns Money While I Sleep | How to Make Money With an AI Influencer, SparkDazzle on YouTube, .

A starting order that keeps costs low

  1. Pick a niche where brands already pay creators. AI influencer niche ideas lists them.
  2. Build the character on a monthly plan and keep the face identical across posts (consistent AI character).
  3. Join a programme that pays from zero followers while the account grows.
  4. Add affiliate links once followers ask what the character uses.
  5. Pitch brands with your follower count and engagement once the niche is clear.
  6. Label every post as AI and every paid post as paid, on each platform’s own tool.

Questions about earning with an AI influencer

Can you make money with an AI influencer?

Yes. AI influencers earn from brand deals, affiliate links, selling content, creator programmes and their own products. Most of the money goes to accounts with large followings in one niche.

How many followers does an AI influencer need to make money?

None for Higgsfield Earn, which has no follower minimum. TikTok’s Creator Rewards needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days. Brand deals follow reach in a niche.

Do AI influencers get brand deals?

Yes. Euronews reported in 2023 that Aitana López earned just over 1,000 euros per advert. A sponsored post by a character carries the same paid-partnership label as a human’s under the FTC’s Endorsement Guides.

Does YouTube pay AI influencer channels?

Yes, when the channel is original. YouTube’s policy allows AI used “to visualize a unique character and narrative you invented” and refuses mass-produced AI content and AI personas that give health or money advice.
